About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

I'm From Texas Ya'll

TWO THINGS...
#1
Here lately I've been told that I'm definitely from Texas.
Yes, for a fact I am from Texas. But ever since I've been OUT of Texas, I seem to hear that more and more everyday.  When I was in Texas, it wasn't a big deal.  But now everyone laughs at me saying that I have some sort of accent, one I never knew I had.
Apparently words as in, "like", "right", supposedly any word that has the long "i" sound, really brings out my so-called-accent.  A girl at work laughs at me, but says she just think it's "cute".  A guy that was working on our phones at work joked and said that I "must be from Texas" due to how I said "polite".  I was getting a pedicure Saturday and I had said a few things to Whitney and the Chinese dude was like, "You're from Texas huh?" Seriously?? I never knew that I was labeled as a Texan, but I'm a-okay with that. ;)

#2
A show that Trevor watches season premiered tonight. Once again, two words.
YIPP-EE.
I don't understand why exactly he has to watch shows with nasty alligators.  EW! I absolutely LOATHE alligators.

Are those not the nastiest creatures you've ever seen in your whole entire life????
I hate them just like I hate frogs.  I'm literally going to have nightmares tonight.
Why can't he watch something that has cute animals??
Like...

Dolphins! Dolphins are cute!!
Anyway... I suppose I will go on with my night listening to Trevor yell, "Choot 'em, Choot 'em" at the "Swamp People" killing nasty yucky gross alligators.
Needless to say I am counting down the minutes till I get to watch Grey's Anatomy.
Yay for Thursdays!!!
(MINUS SWAMP PEOPLE)

Concert Junkie

Today is Monday.  Blah.  Which only means ONE thing...
WEEKEND IS OFFICIALLY OVER!
I'm sad to see it go, but I must say that it was a good one in the books.

Friday I came home to sushi!! Yum.  Then Trevor and I parted ways and he had a guy's night while I had girl's night.  Pretty for sure the guys came out with a bigger win than we did...
They didn't make it home till 2: We were home by 11:30.
They didn't have two babies tagging along: We did.
However, the two babies are good, sweet babies!  You wouldn't have even known they were there.
We did some shopping and had our own definition of fun. ;)
OH! I almost forgot!
When we arrived to the Boardwalk, there were cops patrolling EVERYWHERE! Misty was thinking that someone just robbed a store or something; I was thinking someone famous.  Wanna know who was right??? THIS GIRL!!
It was the one and only Mr...

GERARD BUTLER!!
WHAT?! I know...exactly what I thought when I found out.
Yup, found out.  I had to find out today that he was the reason cops at the Boardwalk were going crazy because we chose to keep walking instead of wait!!!
I just knew I should've waited.
I had a gut feeling it was someone famous.  He was in town filming a movie and later went out to Celebrity Lounge.  Ugh....REALLY sad day for Mekayla.

Saturday, Trevor bought his very first pair of sunglasses. This was probably the best investment he's almost ever made.  No more complaining about being at the beach with the sun in his eyes, no more complaining about being on the lake with the sun in his eyes...etc.
We dined in at Raising Cane's for lunch, romantic I know, but also very tasty.
We headed over to Home Depot for something that Trevor needed for his plumeria's and that's when I spotted all these pretty pretty flowers!!
So I came back and I planted them..

Cute...I know. :)
All the flowers I picked out that I thought were so pretty were all coincidentally pink.
Oops!
After working up a sweat, we relaxed with some homemade daiquiris. MMM!
Later it was time to get ready...
FOR GARY ALLAN!

He was simply amazing!  He continuously played for 2 hours!!

We obviously need some practice on taking pictures of ourselves by ourselves.
This was the best one.
During the friggin concert, Trevor looked down and friggin found $41 LAYING ON THE FLOOR!
Swear luckiest dude ever.  Maybe his luck will eventually rub off on me? Maybe??
He then decided that since we were already at the Horseshoe Casino that he should go "put it all on black".  He did this and won.  This was after he had already lost $20.  After his win, he decided to, "let it ride".  Anyway he walked out with $100.
Like I said, LUCKIEST dude ever.

Sunday after church we went and ate some wings and headed over to see the girls.
Boy, have they grown.
Ruby is apparently in the process of learning who I am and not liking me one bit.
Ha, she cried the entire time I was holding her until she finally gave up and went to sleep.
They look like baby dolls when they're asleep!
Afterwards we once again ended up at Home Depot...
But on our way we stopped at a guy selling flowers.

And that's how that ended up.
Don't judge them quite yet though.  I thought they were pretty, and they were sitting off by themselves.  I could've sworn that they were the same flower as these others that were grouped together.  Trevor thought differently.  So instead of exchanging them with the nicer looking ones, he bargained with the guy and got them for half price.
Typical Trevor- but I guess it all worked out.  So I'm going to attempt to bring them semi-back to life.
They're not dead...they were just dry.  At least I hope.

Trevor then had to go to Carl's to help him do something simple because he couldn't figure out how to do it.
So in reward, we got a meal! It was DE-LICIOUS too!!
Tilapia, shrimp, baked potatoes, bread...the works.
So like I said, a good weekend to go down in the books!!
Now the countdown begins till this weekend!! :)

GREEN DAY!

Trevor took it upon himself to buy green food coloring for...

That's right.  GREEN BEER!
For St. Patrick's Day!!!

He got a little carried away with the green though...

cause he licked the knife he stirred the green coloring into the beer with. Making him to have a rather large green spot stained on his lip. (Looking at the picture, your right side. Bottom lip. ;) )
You probably can't see it, but if you're really worried about it you can click the picture to enlarge it.
It doesn't really matter though because I know it's there.  And I about died laughing.  It was almost as funny as when I caught him talking to himself mowing the grass with hand gestures and all. But not quite.  Enough about Trevor.

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!!!!

TIME CHANGE

The time changed Saturday and like I said in my previous blog, I did not like the idea of the time changing Saturday, but overall I am happy for the time change!!
Everyone's griping because we're losing an hour of sleep.  Don't get me wrong, I love me some sleep, but I'm also lovin' the time change.
Why?
Because when I get off from work or get home from class....

It's still light outside!!
I absolutely love it.  It feels like my days are longer.
Used to when it was dark I felt tired and felt like I couldn't get anything else done.
So as for this girl??? She has no complains about losing an hour of sleep.  :)

FINALLY TUESDAY!

So you might be confused by my title, but yes it is finally Tuesday and I am sooo glad!
Call me crazy, but I've been waiting for this day since last week!
As of last week I knew that I was going to have lots to do and by Tuesday I would finally be able to relax.
Well I made it out alive, barely- but surely.

Saturday morning I was already tired.  I had fallen asleep on the couch till 3 in the morning Friday night and then woke up at 7 ALL WHILE going to bed by about 12:30.
After finally getting around, I headed off to Denton for the weekend to see my cousin and left Trevor behind.
Lailee was more than thrilled about this decision...

When I arrived Saturday, we decided to go grab some dinner and see a movie.
We chose Just Go With It.  It was a good one! We thought because it was an older one that no one would be there, boy were we wrong.  It was shoulder to shoulder packed!
We then returned to the apartment, took a long, strenuous walk around the golf course, enjoyed some wine and caught up.

Saturday night the time changed.
As of Saturday, I didn't like this idea.  Only making me not going to bed till 1.  WAY past my bedtime.
Sunday was another early morning.  Well earlier...
Since I was still tired, 9 o'clock came a little early.
We went to church then headed off to Frisco.
Had to find something gagaesque to wear to GAGA. And I L-O-V-E to shop in Frisco. :)
We were once again exhausted and didn't get home till 5.  We had a long night ahead of us because we had to wait on Marissa, Taelor, Tanner, and Mekenna to arrive.
I on the other hand had lots of homework that was due by Monday and Tuesday (today).
So it was back to work.

I was up again till about 2, but happy that I had gotten some homework out of the way.
Monday I finally got to sleep in some. But still tired.  We went and ate at my faaaavorite Mexican restaurant in Denton.  EL GUAPOS! Mmmm!
After we did some more shopping.  Well for me, I just looked.  We hit up some downtown stores that were actually kinda cool.  I really loved one store- La Di Da.  It was so cute...BUT OH SO EXPENSIVE. We also went to an antique store- there were some pretty cool and old things in there.
We came back and everyone took a nap EXCEPT for me. :( I hit the books once again.
I had to get it all done cause in a few hours we were headed out to
LADY GAGA!!!

Lady GaGa was fun.  There were tons of crazy people there! It was worth it just to see everyone there.
The concert ended and we were back in Denton by about 1.
After I was showered I didn't get to bed till 1:45, only having to wake up by 7, to leave by 8, to get back to go to work. (I know all I've been doing is complaining about being tired)
ANYWAY...I'm done with class, gave my speech, and finally made it back, and I am SO glad to be back because I know that I can finally get some sleep. :)
It's back to my daily routine tomorrow and for once I am actually excited about it.

An apology and a thank-you-for-dealing-with-my-grouchiness-today should probably go out to Trevor. ;) mmmwah!

Bye Bye Meat

So it's Fat Tuesday- know what the means...
That tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, which means,
NO MEAT TOMORROW OR ON FRIDAY'S TILL EASTER!
You know how you crave Chick-Fil-A on Sundays? Well it's kinda like that.
You don't crave a big, juicy, loaded up hamburger during the week, just on Friday's.  It's kinda mean of your body to do that if you ask me.  It's like its testing me.  Rude.
So in honor of Fat Tuesday, we had over-cheesed, cheesy, chicken enchiladas.
MmMmMmMmMm!!!

I haven't made homemade enchiladas in a long time.
They weren't as cheesy as I said they were, or as they look.  I had to cover up the spiciness, cause I used a new sauce.
They were pretty spiiic-ay!
Back to having to eat fish...I used to not like fish, but it's okay now.  I'll eat shrimp, occasionally catfish and crawfish. But that's pretty much it.  So yay for Fish Friday's.

Yesterday was Monday.  That's all I have to say about that because it was exactly what I said it was....
a Monday!
It was horrible.  I never sat down.  By far the busiest day of work since I've been working there.

The Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday: We went out with some friends and had dinner at Shoguns!!
It was yummy!  I even tried a new type of "sushi".  I say "sushi" because it apparently isn't real sushi.  My favorite is the California roll, but this time I tried a Rainbow roll.  It tasted almost exactly the same but had tuna on top and pretty orange sprinkles.
Pff... sprinkles. Who am I kidding? That's what I liked to think they were, but the chef informed us they were FISH EGGS!! Ah!! I almost gagged.  I'll try anything as long as you don't tell me what it is.  After I was informed of that, I was knocking the "pretty orange sprinkles" off.

Saturday: was Mardi Gras AGAIN!
Except this time it wasn't so pleasant.
Don't get me wrong.  It was a fun time, but IT WAS FUH-REEZING!  No exaggerations.
The crazy boys survived the rain storm because they got up at 5:30 to go up there.
However, I stayed home, cuddled with the pups and we went back to sleep.
I went up there later and it was, like I said, FUH-REEZING!
It wasn't so bad under the tent, but it was still cold.
Due to the fact that we got 50 million beads and no kidding about 60 cups last weekend, we decided to only keep the necessary stuff.

This excluded a Beanie Baby, a whistle, and a couple of footballs.

Sunday: We went to church, had lunch at McAllister's, went to Academy,
and went to Wal-Mart to get a new bike something or another to fix the tire on the bike. :)
We came back to the house after Trevor visited a rig and did some things around the house.
Trevor worked out in the yard, while Lailee, Jersey, and I went on a walk.  They're pretty worn out.
I don't know if it is because they're out of shape or if Jersey almost got eaten by a wolf and Lailee tried to save her.  My bets would be on being out of shape.
Today is pretty frigid too.  I don't know where the warm weather went, but it needs to come back ASAP.
Trevor's cooking out on the grill while I am enjoying a....

homemade margarita!! Yummm.
(You see that we're putting the 60 Mardi Gras cups to use)
Can't wait for work tomorrow....I get to show off my new incredibly sexy uniformed shirt tomorrow.
Yippee!

Cute Puppies & Furry Bunnies

Bunnies, bunnies, bunnies.  Cute huh? Especially the small itsy teeny tiny ones!
Ya, not to Lailee and Jersey.

This was the best I could do, but seriously look at those sweet innocent faces.  Would you think they were killers?? Not me.  But they so definitely are!  Last night Trevor was out with some guys from work and it was late, so I let the dogs out before bed.  I go to let them back in because they were waiting for me to let them back in.  I open the door they leave to go get something....
Something AS IN A BUNNY!
They played tug-of-war with that thing! I felt so bad for it.
I then got to thinking..."pff I've seen Jersey chase bunnies all the time and she's not fast enough to catch them and Lailee's slower than Jersey.  It was probably already dead."
That's a BIG negative.
Today it was witnessed that they are both indeed bunny murderers.
I saw it with my own two eyes.  Scooped it right up and bopped it on the head.
End of story.
I thought I raised Lailee a little better than to be a bunny killer, but I guess she proved me wrong.
I was one disappointed mommy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I get a text from my mom: "Are you feeling sad today?"
Me: "No...why?"
Mom: "Because I am.  I'm cleaning out your closet and taking all your stuff down so Mekenna can move in."
...................
Now I'm feeling sad.  I'm basically homeless now.  No room at home, no home anywhere!
Poor, poor pitiful me.
My mom always told me that she wouldn't ever let Mekenna or Madison or Maryn move into my old bedroom until I got married and got my own house even when Mekenna and Madison were sharing a room.
Boy, did she take back those words.
But I guess it's okay....I mean if I were to put myself in Mekenna's shoes, I wouldn't want to share a room with my little sister, which she has been for forever.  Better yet, I really wouldn't want to share a room with anyone.  Guess it's time to grow up and get officially kicked out of mom's house.  *sigh*
Now when I come home I'll get kicked down to the basement like the step child.
I'll get over though...don't worry.
Just a little f.y.i. though: Mekenna, you don't HAVE to shove it in my face.  Jus sayin. :)
