Memorial Day Weekend

Yesterday was Memorial Day and more than just a day off work!  So a huge thank you to all of our soldiers of all ages for all that you do!!

As I said in my previous post, we had company this past weekend.  Saturday, Saturday Saturday... Let me tell you...

WHAT

A

SATURDAY!

It was by far the craziest Saturday I've had in a while.  Our guests arrived around 5:30 ish and we headed out to the Blind Tiger for some food.  While we were eating we had made the decision (well influenced by myself) to go "bar hopping".  We finished our drinks at Blind Tiger and started our what we thought was going to be a glorious adventure.  We went to The Boot, Noble Savage, Stray Cats, another place, and ended up (well me and Trevor) at the casino.  We lost Levi and Jessica at the place we were at before the casino.  Let's just say it didn't end as well as we had wanted it to.  We should've known that staying out till 3 A.M. and bar hopping wasn't going to have a good ending.  Well it ended up with Jessica getting her 2 week old iPhone stolen, to Jessica "missing", to Trevor almost getting in a fight twice at the casino, to finally Trevor telling the cab driver to drop us off at the edge of the neighborhood (no where near the house).  

I'm telling you it wasn't good.  Till the next day.  After 3 o'clock that is.  After we were all healed from our hangovers, (except Trevor who didn't have one which is odd because he was obviously well off more than the rest of us) we, well I thought it was a pretty legit night. ;)  It's fun to have one of those nights every once in a while.  

At 3:30ish we headed to the lake and spent the rest of the day there. Ahhh the joys of having a boyfriend with a boat. (which he is still yet to share with you all what it looks like)

Yesterday for Memorial Day, Trevor and I cooked out.  We had a humongous meal.  Salad, steak, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, chocolate pie, watermelon, cantaloupe...I was stuffed.  We finished off the night with watching No Strings Attached.  It was a good movie!

I then took some benedryl and konked out.  Why did I take benedryl? Oh because I got bit like 3 times int he same spot by a mosquito and it swelled up.  I took a pic but it's too disgusting to share.  I wouldn't even let Trevor see.  It looked like I had another butt cheek.  But no worries it went down.

It was hard getting up this morning and getting back into routine after my 3 day weekend, but it was well enjoyed!  At least now it will be a short work week!!!

OH... 11 more days till my b-day! ;)

Cajun Country

So I'm starting to realize the only time I blog is on the weekends.  But it's only because that's the only times I feel as if I have something to blog about.  Nothing ever exciting happens during the week.  Except this week!  Last night we went out.

Big shocker!

We never go out during the week, but this morning I learned why. I may not look old on the outside, but I'm convinced that inside it's another story.  I woke up at 8 and tried to go back to sleep, but Jersey however was ready to start the day.  Laugh all you want, but I'm being serious when I say that a dog is just like a kid! She was jumping up in bed with me whining and she didn't need to go out because Trevor had just let her out.  She wanted me up and out of bed.  But as soon as I got out, she went to her spot in the house and went back to sleep.  Not cool.

I got up and cleaned though because......

we have company coming this weekend!! Levi and Jessica to be exact.  They won't be here till Saturday but I went ahead and cleaned and it better stay that way. :)

I love having company, but the cleaning part blows!

Last night we went out to Mudbug Madness.  It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of people there!

We enjoyed listening to some zydeco/cajun music and some cold beverages.  Karl (Trevor's friend) was even trying to teach me how to dance like a cajun.  It was a dance called the JitterBug, which I know a version of the JitterBug, but his JitterBug, was definitely not the same as my JitterBug.

I know I get excited for every weekend, but this weekend I'm even more excited...

Bring on the 3-day weekend!!!

Live For The Weekends

I have come to the conclusion that I live for the weekends.  Which I mean who doesn't? But honestly it's Monday and I'm wondering where Friday is.  I LOVE the weekends!! 

Friday we dined out at Olive Garden, came home and watched Pure Country 2.  While at Olive Garden we ran into some RAW chicken.  My stomach immediately turned into knots!! So gross.  We got free dessert and a cheap ticket ANNNND I didn't get sick. YAY! I just knew I had eaten some of it or it had contaminated my food enough to make me sick so I was completely prepared to get sick, but luckily I didn't.  

Saturday we seriously waited around like little kids singing, "rain rain go away come again another day".  We wanted to go to the lake so bad!! BUUUT the weather won and we didn't get to go, but no worries because we went Sunday!!  We invited Joey and Megan out with us so they gladly joined us.  It was a lot of fun.  The water was a little rough due to the wind, but we weren't going to let anything rain on our parade Sunday.  Karl purchased a tube too so we got to test it out!! Trevor even knee boarded, but I'm pretty for sure he stayed down more than he stayed up!

As for today it was a typical Monday.  Things going wrong and pretty busy! But not enough to ruin my day- besides I saw a small little something to cheer me up after I got off work!  A small little something as in Miss Molly Kate! (And of course Lilly) Yup, she has finally made her arrival, yesterday to be exact. For those of you who don't know, Molly is our friends Andrew and Misty's new little girl!  (Or Lilly's little sister)  Lilly will be such a great big sister!!  

I'm glad I made it through today, exhausted, but made it.  I only have the rest of the week to look forward to! Busy busy!  Like I said where's Friday?? (yay for the weekends!) 

I apologize to bore you with my words with no pictures, but Karl's wife got all the pictures at the lake, Andrew's mom got all the pictures of me and Molly, and really I guess I never ran into anything picture worthy other than those events! :)

Tomorrow is May 24th.  Know what that means? That it's never too early to start a birthday countdown!! Whoop!

Weekend Getaway!

This weekend Trevor planned us a trip to Houston.  We left Friday morning, stopped in Lufkin to have lunch with Abby ;), and headed that way.  When we arrived we decided to hit up the mall in the Woodlands.  I say Woodlands because Trevor said we were "big ballers" being in the Woodlands. 

Anyway we enjoyed our Friday night with a Fish Fry at Ethan and Angie's.  It was some dang good fish!! 

We'll definitely be back soon! ;) ((That is if we're allowed back!))

Obviously things got a little rowdy if the cowboy hat got drug out.

Saturday we woke up feeling like champs and headed to the Astro game.

We packed up at Ethan and Angie's and headed to Nick and Elizabeth's. 

 It was actually lots of fun!  I only say that because everyone was saying how the Astro's sucked this year and the team they were playing (The Mets) sucked even worse.  But it was a lot of fun.  And of course Trevor made new friends.  They did something with oil and were from Canada.  Trevor now "apparently" has a trip planned to Canada to shoot some moose.    

After the game we headed out to Kemah.  I had never heard of this place, but apparently it was said to be a mini New Orleans.  It was also a lot of fun!  

Trevor got excited and even said himself that he was "a little kid in a candy store".  You could walk around with a drink in hand and there was a roller-coaster, in which he rode.  

We returned from our little getaway today.  Although we didn't go that far and it was just for a weekend, it was much needed and an awesome time!!  Glad we have friends to put us up for the weekend and entertain us!! Thanks you guys!

A Whole Lotta Nothing

So nothing's been really going on here lately.  Just everyday life.  Eating, breathing, living, working out...YES- the working out.  Here lately when I go to work out I've just been running and doing other aerobic things.  Well yesterday I decided that my legs needed to be lifting weights.  Ohmygosh am I sore today!  I am definitely paying for those leg exercises today!  I feel like I would imagine The Hulk to feel like.

But trust me... I don't look like that.

 So because I was sore today I decided to go shopping to walk it out. ;)  While I was out I picked up my summer reading!

I am not a big reader, but over the past couple of years I've been reading in the summer.  I'm excited to start it because it's already a movie.  Hence how I made my decision.  It should be good!

Trevor got his boat back today!

Yay!! Now we can start going to the lake religiously- after this weekend that is.  (He sent it to get the seats fixed.)  We're taking a road trip this weekend!! Should be tons of fun!!  I'll have to tell all about it when we get back!!  Yay for mini-vacation!!

May 5th

is CINCO DE MAYO!!

So in honor of Cinco de Mayo this gringo made a mexican dinner!!

Chicken enchiladas and rice!

No, strawberry shortcake is probably not considered to be a type of Mexican food, but hey there's only so much a gringo can do.  And that includes NOT being able to make sopapillas. (sp)

There's only one thing missing...

Margaritas!! Duh!

Days In May

I can not believe it is already May. Time has definitely flown.  

The first couple of days in May have been FUH-REEZING. Okay, not freezing, but not hot either.  Like in the 60's, which is not okay.

Come on weather! This girl is ready for the hot. (Or at least I think so) 

Bring it on!

the lake trips (now that Trevor has a boat),

the vacations,

the margaritas on the back patio,
my birthday (couldn't leave that one out),

everything! I'm ready for it all!!

Today probably didn't help my anticipation either.  Beeeecaaaause- the semester ended!!

I'm not going to lie, the semester wasn't stressful hardly at all.  I've been pretty much bumming it ever since I got done with my requirements, just waiting to get accepted.  This semester I transferred schools and when I did...my speech class stayed behind.  Ohmygosh am I glad that class is over! I hate talking in front of everyone.  I had a final due last night, a final due at 12 today, and a final this afternoon all leading up to me being done!!! 

So summer hurry it up.  I'm tired of waiting.  Please and thank you!!!

Boat, Shopping, & Parties

WHOO WHEE!

The weekend is over and boy was it an exhausting one!

Friday we stayed out sorta late, but I had to get up Saturday morning to attend a 1 year old's birthday party...(Happy Birthday Kerrington!) It started at 11, but Misty and I had a couple of things to do before so I had to get up at 8 but didn't get up till 8:30.  We attended the fabulous party and continued our day with nothing better than shopping!  You know the saying "Shop till you drop"?  Well we definitely shopped till we dropped.  When I got home, Trevor was out washing his boat. Yes, it is true.  Trevor finally bought a boat.  No more long nights online looking for a boat! I have a picture, but the boat is Trevor's prized possession, (besides me ;) ) so I feel as if it his duty to show everyone his boat.  I don't want to spoil it for him.  

The day ended with a UFC party.  It was a fun time as always, but once again another late night.  

Sunday we had to get up at 8 to make it to church by 9.  We normally have church at 11, but Trevor's friend's little boy was making his First Communion, so of course we had to make that.

Later we really wanted to go test out the new boat, but it looked like it was going to rain and the radar said it was going to rain so we almost didn't go.  Good thing we did! The rain didn't come till like 10.  And when it did, it was nothing.  We had to test it out this weekend or else we wouldn't have gotten to test it out for another few weeks.  I even got in the water!! It was freezing cold to say the least.

By Sunday night we were EXTREMELY tired, so I slept like a baby. 

By this morning, I was refreshed.  I absolutely loved this morning.  I woke up at 8:30, wrapped up in my blanket, had some coffee, and did some reading for school....

ALL WHILE IT WAS RAINING!!

I loved it.  It wasn't a nasty rain that brought tornadoes or thunder storms it was just rain.  

B-e-a-utiful!!

I got ready to come to work, but took Misty to get food before and while we were at the Boardwalk, it started raining!!  I didn't have a jacket and no umbrella.  (They were both in the car)  So we speed walked to the car because Misty could have a baby any day now.  Needless to say we were pretty darn wet.

And those my friends, are my feelings on getting soaked.
