About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

Call Me Susie...

Susie Homemaker.
I don't know if you remember me mentioning about cleaning Monday or not, but I did.  Monday and today is Thursday.  Trevor informed me that people might be coming over Saturday night.  I already had to clean up the kitchen (due to what I did that we will get to later) so I figured WHY THE HECK NOT CLEAN THE DANG FLOORS ONE MORE TIME?!  I can not stand:
A) The fact that there are wood and tile floors throughout the house where everyone can see every little thing thats on the floor (besides the fact that they're attractive looking, I hate cleaning them)
B) The fact that the dogs go in and out all day and track in messes
&
C) The fact that Trevor isn't careful about what's on his boots/crocs/shoes/socks/feet because he doesn't clean the floors anymore so what's it matter to him?
He didn't say that but those are my thoughts.  Because Wednesday morning after I cleaned the floors Tuesday night there they were....croc foot prints along with little paw prints right next to them.
Sigh What's the point?
Anyway, I cleaned them once again for the people possibly coming Saturday night.  If Trevor thinks I'm cleaning them again before then...in the words of Misty May Garrison, "he's done lost his mind".  He better hope that Jersey, Lailee, and himself do not make a mess. :)
Back to my kitchen cleanup...
((Of course before my mess...))
I made cookies.  For Morgan.  For the short time she was with us all at Blanchard Walker, she baked for every single one of us for our birthday so I figured I'd return the favor because tomorrow is her last day.
Morgan: It was fun while it lasted!! ;)
If she reads this before tomorrow (which I'm 110% positive that she won't) the surprise will be ruined.
Oh well.  I'll keep the kind of cookies I made a secret so at least that part will be a secret just in case she does read it.  I made my fave just in case she doesn't like them! ;)

Funny Puppy

I say puppy, but Lailee is almost 4!  In fact, she'll be 4 in 4 months!!  She's gettin' on up there!  In a more factual statement, my family didn't think I'd last this long taking care of a dog.  My mom thought I was too selfish and girly.  Yup, thanks mom!  She thought I was so girly that I would think dogs were disgusting and too selfish that I wouldn't take care of her.  They all even took bets on when I would get tired of her and have to get rid of her.  Well, it's been almost 4 years now...still going strong! ;)
In an even more factual statement she still makes me laugh.
I swear she's half human.  Or at least she acts like it.
She listens like a teenager, she loves to eat like a human, she whines about everything until she gets her way, if you were to ask me she sounds more like a kid than a dog.
But last night she seriously made me laugh out loud.  I only saw Trevor yesterday for literally .2 seconds.    He got home and got called back out before I even got home.  He didn't get back till 9:30, ate supper, showered, and went to bed.  He hasn't been feeling too bueno.
I stayed up and attempted to finish cleaning but apparently I was making too much noise because Trevor suggested I shut it down for the night.  I stopped, but I stayed up.  Lailee, however is still a cage dog at night.  Every time she earns a little bit of trust she has an accident.  She hates sleeping in the cage and I hate for her to too, but I have still yet to figure out how to fix her problem.  I honestly think it's her way of showing Trevor her feelings about him, since we never had this problem before.
Well last night I was standing in the kitchen and out of the corner of my eye I see Lailee wandering into the bedroom.  ((For some odd reason she loves to sleep under the bed))  Since Trevor was already in bed, she was afraid, or what I assume she was thinking, that Trevor would catch her and get on to her.  She stayed as close to the wall as possible and literally tip toed very slowly to see if she could accomplish getting under the bed for the night without getting caught.  It was most definitely a lot funnier to actually see her do this instead of telling the story, so I'm dearly sorry for wasting your time.  I'll video next time!!

Thursday Night Fun

As I informed ya'll earlier, we went out Thursday for Randy Rogers!  For us to go out during the week is very rare.  And Friday I found out why.  I was completely worn out, to say the least.  I had to set an alarm to wake up at 10 so I could make it to work.  Needless to say, we did have fun.

All spiffy before the concert

Going out with our boots on

We were amazed with how my phone could flip the screen around and we could take a picture that way.

I'd say we had some fun beeecaauuse we didn't do anything last night.  And last night was Friday night.  We did nothing but watch T.V. and fell asleep on the couch by I believe 10:30.  Yup, sad.  The only worse thing about that is if Trevor goes to bed that early on a Friday he's up and at 'em Saturday morning.  Up and at 'em meaning 7:30 A.M. At least that's when I realized he was awake.

Oh and the new iPhone I told ya'll about too? Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Trevor made the transition here pretty soon.  He's obsessed with playing Words with Friends.  He sometimes plays Hanging with Friends, but I believe Words with Friends is his favorite.  So to my Words with Friends friends and Hanging with Friends friends, it might not be me playing you.  He even took the dogs for a walk the other day and my phone was about to die so he waited and charged my phone for a little bit so he could play while he was walking the dogs.  Obsessed.

Kiss Me In The Dark

This, for all you Louisianans, Texas girl is going out tomorrow with her boots on. That's right.  I'm going to go see the Randy Rogers Band!!! I l-o-v-e when Texas Country bands come through!!! It doesn't happen very often.  Whoop!  As I just recently stated, Randy Rogers is Texas Country, so I guess I wouldn't expect anyone in Louisiana to know who Randy Rogers is since they're Texas Country.
So for all my Texas friends out there can I get a whoop whoop?!  Don't worry Louisiana I'm not trying to put you down...

Here's the proof that I'm going!!!!

Here are some samples for you who don't know who Randy Rogers Band is.
&
just to name a few.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Trevor went golfing today and apparently jumped out of a golf cart.  Here are the results from that.
He believes it to be swollen and I'm having to wait on him hand and foot.  Not kidding.  I think he's trying to pull a fast one on me...What do you think?
Better get better by tomorrow cause we're goin boot scootin'. ;)
Yes Anntonette, boot scootin'.
Where Do I Begin?
I went from having nothing to blog about to just about everything.
Ha, okay not.  But I do have a few things to share. :)
For starters I finished my book!! Remember? I was reading Something Borrowed, ya well I finished it.  It was so good!!!  If you haven't read it I suggest you go get it now.  Not 10 minutes from now, not even 30 seconds from now, now!  Okay, I'll cut you some slack because I know that if you take my advice you would want to finish reading my pathetic blog first! ;)  I am really wanting to go see the movie, but I can't convince anyone to go with me.  I might have to go by myself.  Oh were you thinking that I had a bf that could take me?  Ya I was thinking that too.  You'll have to help me out on that one and convince him to hurry up and take me before it leaves theaters!!  At one point he promised he'd take me.  Seems to me he's taking back his promise........
Secondly, I got some more birthday presents!! My aunt's finally got here and my family got me an iPhone!
This is my very first iPhone.  I figured I'd make the transition if i had an iPod and a Mac.  It would only make sense to complete the trio with an iPhone.  I'm absolutely loving it so far.  I'm glad that I went and got a second opinion because the first Verizon store I went to the guy told me that I wouldn't want an iPhone with Verizon because they were having glitches like they were when they first came out with AT&T.  He also said that my signal strength would suck.  So far, so good!
I know she's a beauty.
Thirdly, I thought I would share with you what's on my Recently Added playlist on my iPod.
Remind Me by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood
My Kinda Party by Jason Aldean
God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes
&
Give Me Everything by Pitbull feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer
They're some good ones!
We also went out for Andrew's Birthday last night.  Two thumbs way way up for eating at Superior two weekends in a row!  Whoop!!
(For those of you who didn't know, Trevor hates this place because A.  He hates Mexican food  ((who hates Mexican food?))  B. It's too loud  C.  It's too crowded which leads to him hating having to wait for a table and D. It's too expensive) So there you have it.  So long Superior! I'm sure my visits to you have been plenty for the year.  See ya next year!
Some Extra Stuff
Today Lailee got a haircut.
Obviously she wasn't too thrilled about it.  And quite frankly, neither was I.  They messed her face up like bad style.  They cut her hair, or as I call it her "goatee" short which I appreciate because when she drinks water and her hair is long water drips everywhere.  But they failed to trim up her ears.  So her ears are really long, but her hair on her face is extremely short.  *sigh*  Oh well it's just hair it'll grow back.  Maybe they would get it right if they kept up with my information!  It's gotten to the point where I might boycott them, but they do so much for such a great price! And normally her haircuts turn out for the better.  I guess everyone gets their turn of bad haircuts.
Anyway, I remembered today that I forgot to tell a story about what happened Saturday.
Saturday was of course my birthday and as I said in my previous blog, we stopped at the what Trevor called the famous "Cub".  He asked why I hadn't "checked us in" at this famous place.  When I had tried my phone froze up, so I had told him this.  So he attempted to "check us in". He then says, "Crap, my phone's freezing up too".  At this point I look over and learn that he's trying to punch buttons on his screen.  Not two seconds after realizing this I burst out laughing....
For all of you who don't know, that's Trevor's phone.  It's not so much on the touchscreen side. ;)
Needless to say, his phone wasn't exactly freezing up.
Oh Trevor...
B-DAY WEEKEND
It finally arrived, my birthday.  And now it's long gone.  *sad face*
It was a good one though so the sad face was unnecessary.
Another year; as most call it the "double deuce".  I mean it's just 22 not that old, that I thought...we'll get to that later though.
We started the day out with some mimosas.  Mmmm!  We then got ready and headed...pause
I got my birthday present before we went anywhere.  Trevor joked all morning and said he wasn't going to give it to me until 11:59 that night.  He's so hilarious.  It was wrapped with merry christmas wrapping paper and placed into a victoria secret bag.  So thoughtful!
Yes it is a Coach and yes I do absolutely love it.  Thanks pookers-dookers.
So like I said before we headed out to Buffalo Wild Wings to have some drinks.
We later headed to Superior Grill and had some fantabulous margaritas.
Trevor can complain about this restaurant all he wants, but he knows he loves him some mango margaritas.
See??
Our next stop was The Cub.  Trevor says this place is apparently famous.  We had been before, but I never knew it was "famous".
Next was the Sand Bar.  Possibly and strangely my new favorite place.  It was my first time there and there were arcade games but with a bar!  We played games until we ran out of quarters.  This was because I kept beating Trevor at everything.  I'm not kidding.  Ski ball, a basketball game, everything.  I believe his ego started to get hurt because he went and got some more quarters.  This time around he started to beat me.  Don't tell him but I was totally letting him win so he could win his ego back.
We headed back to the house after the Sand Bar because we had learned we were getting more guests!  Geez, so popular everyone coming to see us all the time.  Abby and her friend came Saturday night so that we could go to the lake on Sunday.  It was a blast!  Sunday was also our first time to tube.  Trevor has failed to buy any "toys" and Karl gave him his old tube so we took it out.  It was the first and last time we will ever use that tube.
On the very first ride with Abby the strap that we were supposed to tie the rope to to pull the tube ripped off.  After that we started tying the rope to the handles.  They eventually all ripped off but one.  And I didn't get to tube very long because of this problem.  Sad face is necessary here.  But here is also where the old age comes in.  Today I woke up with my back completely sore and in pain.  NOT cool.   So I definitely felt the one year older today.  And it's probably only going to get worse...great!
My birthday may be over....buuuut I'm still getting presents.  Many came in the mail today!!!
A shirt from Babe and Brian, cards from each one of my sisters and the rest of my family to go along with what they sent me Friday, and a card/gift card from my grandparents!! :) I loove presents!!
Mom Knows Best
In reference to my previous blog about how I must've been raised to believe that my birthday is a big deal, I bring you this important information:
A text from my mom
"How's the day prior to the most important day ever going?"
That's right. My mom knows what's up!!
She (along with the rest of my family) also sent me this...
Once again, my mom knows what's up.  She's not the only one though because when I got to work...
Morgan made me these...
Clayton made me these...
(there's a half eaten one because he insisted that I tried them right then and I was about to eat lunch so I only took half of one)
AND
Anntonette got me this!
Awww, such sweet sweet friends!  I love getting early birthday presents!!
Thank you all for all my goodies!!!
Birthday & Pet Peeves
Yesterday I realized that I have a new pet peeve.
COPS!
Ugh.  In the past I've gotten pulled over for speeding and what not and have gotten a ticket every time.  I can never get out of them.  And I am pretty for sure I've gotten a ticket for just going 5 miles over.  I mean really 5 miles over isn't that bad.  So yesterday on my way home from work I saw a cop in two different places.  They were driving not sitting.  So naturally I went exactly the speed limit.  Not one under, not one over.  And here they come just speeding past me.  Seriously?? If you're going to pull me over for going 5 miles over the speed limit, you need to follow the rules as well.  So if you're a cop, going to be a cop, here's my message to you: don't be a hypocrite.
Alright now that I'm off my soap box, I'm getting back on it.
As all of you should know, my birthday's coming up.  (I say all of you should know because I've been counting down on my blog)  And every year except last has been planned by my family.  Last year the planning went to Jessica and I believe partially Trevor.  THIS YEAR, the planning goes solely to Trevor.  I know what ya'll are all thinking, why are you making your birthday such a big deal? Look I don't know why I think my birthday is a big deal, I've just always thought that.  Maybe my mom lead me to believe when I was young that it was and it just stuck.  Who knows.  Anyway, I keep asking Trevor what we're doing for my birthday.  He responds in numerous ways such as,
"Your birthday is this weekend?"
"I'm on call this weekend" And when I reply that he's not because it's on the calendar he says, "Ya but I switched with Curtis- it was an emergency"
"It's your 22nd birthday, it's not a big deal.  Birthdays aren't a big deal now that you can drink and drive-but of course not together"
"I was thinking that maybe you'd get a card and some flowers, then MAYBE dinner and a movie"
(which is fine but when he says that one he acts put out about it)
OR
"I'm going out of town this weekend for a fishing trip -with so and so-"
See what I have to put up with? As far as I'm concerned my birthday is in a world full of hurt. *Sigh*
I guess all I can do is wait and see what happens.
I mean I won't even get a birthday cake that says Happy 22nd Birthday Mekayla from my famous aunt!
Feel sorry for me now?!
Another Weekend In The Books
Well today marks another weekend down in the books.  I wouldn't say that my life is too exciting, except now I'm starting to wonder...
We do something just about every weekend.
This past weekend was Floatilla.  Floatilla? Yup, Floatilla.  It obviously takes place on a lake and everyone comes out and ties their boat to everyone else's boat and we all just sit there and float, eat and enjoy some iced down beverages.  This is the event that we took part in last year, buuut it was the day after my 21st birthday, so it wasn't so much fun for me.  This year = different story.  And I made sure of it.  I had nothing to drink Friday night except water.  I didn't want to run into any slight chance of being hungover or not feeling good the next day.
Me and Joni (Nick's girlfriend) She's a really nice sweet girl.  Good job Nick.
I even got to drive the boat!
It was a fun time! Glad I got to enjoy it this year.
Oh and in reference to the above picture of Joni and I...this weekend was the first time me and Trevor had met her.  Like I said she was a real sweet girl.  She even said she had my back for when I was going to fight this girl for saying fowl things into Trevor's ear.  Not cool chick, not cool.  But thanks Joni for the back-up if something were to happen.  Although, unfortunately, and I guess fortunately I didn't get into a fight.
This morning the girls (Mable and Ruby) got baptized.  We attended the brunch (with yummy food) that was held afterwards.
It's always good visiting those sweet babies and getting to see their sweet faces!  They're getting so big!
B-DAY COUNTDOWN: 6 more days!! :)
