The other day a coworker of mine, who often reads my blogs, came up with the idea that I should post a blog about them. I thought she was being sarcastic and poking fun at my blog until she told everyone that they would have to take a picture if I did do a blog about them because that's how I do things.
So.... here goes.
Anntonette
(The One With The Idea)
When I first started working here, I was kinda sketchy about Anntonette. Not for any reason except for the fact that she didn't really talk to me. After all, I was just some "country girl that had an accent that wore crosses all the time". I didn't know how I was going to like my job when I first started working here simply for the fact that we all sat in a room and no one would really talk to me. Anntonette eventually started asking the normal questions, "Where do you go to school?", "What are you going to school for?", "Are you from here?", "Do you have a boyfriend?". Typical questions. I assumed that these typical questions would be all that we ever talked about. Until about a month or so later when she realized that I was possibly the coolest person that worked in the afternoons. Or possibly the coolest person she had ever met. We started having real conversations, I started getting invited to her birthday party, her daughter's birthday party, and next thing you know she's answering my phone when Trevor calls, attempting to steal him away from me. Good luck. All though we started out sketchy she's the best black friend I could ever have. :)
Blake
(The Boy of Summer)
Oooh Dougie Fresh. Lil' Dougie hasn't been with us long, but already believes he runs the place. He attends LSU, so he's only here for the summer. He thinks that we'll be lost without him when he leaves because we always put him to work. What he doesn't know is that we're just taking advantage of him. Get over it Blake, you were here for 2 months maybe 2 1/2 and we're here year round. He also believes that he's not supposed to do anything, that nothing is his job. He's gotten a little better about it though. Really and truly, Blake loves us. He claims that Anntonette and I have nothing ever valuable to say so he tunes us out on a hourly basis. We could be talking bad about him and he would never know. Although Blake never has any quarters to get a coke out of the coke machine or a charger to charge his phone when it's going dead, (both that he gets from me) he'll be greatly missed.
Alex
(The Nintendo Boy)
Oooh what's there to say about Alex? Alex lives in his own little world. We often tend to disagree more than we agree. What to watch on T.V., cats or dogs, (he likes cats, I like dogs), who gets to read the new People magazine first, etc. Although Alex and I tend to disagree quite a bit, he's a pretty good guy because every time he goes to Nicky's he brings me back a mint which happen to be my absolute favorite mints! So thanks Alex for always bringing me my favorite mints!
So there you have it, my friendly coworkers. What would I do without ya'll every afternoon to pass the day by??
& this is life as I know it...
