About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

Praise Lord! Alleluia!!

This is in regards of my blog title...
Yes!  Finally we finally got a new sink!  I told Trevor he couldn't invite anyone over anymore until he got a new sink because the old one, all taped up and ghetto looking, was trashy.  That probably wasn't why he got a new sink, but I like to think so. :)  I like to think I have some kind of authority over here!
Anyway the sink is something we definitely take for granted.  I don't think you understand the washing-dishes/washing-hands/getting-water-kinda-stress I was under.

My blog title also refers to me getting home safely!!  I think I had too much time to think about the bad weather because I made myself sick over it.  There was rain, wind, and then snow when I landed!

Call me stupid, but when I left I was incredibly sad for Lailee once again.  I tried to trick her.  She was in the cage and she heard me zip up my suitcase and she started to whine, so I let her outside and went and put my suitcase in the car.  That didn't work either because she heard me rolling my suitcase and started going nuts.  THEN, she ran to the door because she thought that we were going somewhere.  I had to tell her that she had to stay there, and then she tried to sneak out.  It was really sad.  Come Thanksgiving, she'll be able to come with me finally! :)

So now that I've been home, I finally got me a LA CASITA burrito!!!

Yum!! Oh, how I've missed you!! :)
Tonight we are celebrating my grandma's birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMAW!!!
Oh, and can't forget my bestest friend....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA!! ;)
Then it's off to the football game...ask me how long it's been since I've seen one of those!  (A high school one anyway)
I'm also with Abby on this one....I have never been a big baseball fan, but it's pretty exciting that a Texas team is in the World Series!!  Gotta support your state!!  Go Rangers!!!

The "Funk"

Ever since I got back from South Dakota, I've seriously been in a "funk".  Or at least that's what I'm calling it.  I have not been able to stop sleeping.  During the week, I've been sleeping until it's absolutely necessary to get up or I'll be late for work.  I thought for a while it was exhaustion from traveling, but I've had a week to recover.... Then I thought I was getting sick...still nothing luckily! I don't know what it is, but I feel like I could sleep for days straight.
Another "funky" thing was Saturday morning I got up and attempted to make the flower beds look better AND cleaned the house!!  Again....not myself. I thought that this relaxing weekend would help, buutttt slept all day today too!  Even fell asleep during the Cowboys game while they were kicking butt!! ((Congrats Boys! not that they'd ever see this but anyway...))
Whatever this "funk" that I am in....I'm hoping that it will go away.
I know in my last blog I said that, I was back ya'll, but not for long.  I leave Thursday again! I know I'm such the traveler.  I'm going home this time for my grandparents big 50th anniversary!

So as I stated earlier, this weekend was a relaxing weekend...because Trevor was on call.  His friend took their kids to a Haunted House Friday night and was talking about it at church this morning.  Said that he was even scared and that it would definitely be something that we could enjoy too.  We looked into going, but they only do it on Friday and Saturday nights.  I don't like scary freaky things, but I thought that maybe I could get into the Halloween spirit!  Trust me, I would've screamed like a little girl.  Instead, we opted for watching a scary movie...that is if Trevor makes it back from his rig that he got called out to.

Speaking of Haunted Houses....I decided to share a few things that I've always wanted to do:

1. Go to a Haunted House for Halloween/ go to a Halloween party and dress up!
2.  Go to a wine tasting/tour thing ha!
3. Go out for New Years
4. Go to New York for New Years to watch the ball drop
5. Swim with the dolphins
6.  Go to a Cowboys game
7. Be somewhere/watch it actually snow on Christmas day
8. Take a carriage ride (besides the rides in Amarillo, not that I'm bashing on them in any way possible)
9.  Visit an island
10.  Visit every state (only 40 more to go)

Now some of them may sound simple, some may make you think, "She hasn't done that yet?", and some may think that some are imaginable, but oh well that's my list!! :)

I'm Back Ya'll

Welp, I made it back to Louisiana.  For the most part, I think I survived.  Ha.
I think the only thing that was questionable was the beat up from the little kids.  According to them, I had an "accent".  Pff..what did they know, they were the ones with the accent!  I suppose what really got them was the word "ya'll".  They laughed every time I said it.
It was a relaxing rest of the week/weekend.
Where we were staying was smaller than Sunray.  It wasn't too far from a town called Wagner, which was a little bigger than Sunray so don't think I was out in the middle of nowhere the entire time! ;) Anyway, we passed this sign and my first thought was, "holy cow"! Ha, I wanted a picture but never got it until Trevor sent me a text today.

Yes, 79 people.  Crazy!!
Anyway, it was nice and breezy up there and I was absolutely in love with the weather!  I did "mention" that I was absolutely freezing.  According to Babe, I can't complain about being cold and love the cold.  But I do.  :) I wouldn't necessarily call it complaining, more of a "Omg I'm cold"and I'm excited that I'm cold. The whole point of this being cold thing is that when I landed...it was a hot 86 degrees.  It made me completely sad.  But not for too long because....

IT WAS COLD ENOUGH TO WEAR A SCARF TODAY!  Yay for cooler weather!!
The only thing that would make me happier is if Trevor would get home so that the dogs would stop barking at the dark door.  It does nothing but help freak me out even more!! Ugh...
Speaking of cooler weather, I saw not one but two things that applied to Christmas today!  On E!, they were talking about Justin Bieber's Christmas CD AND on TV there was a commercial about someone bring back Layaway for Christmas!! WhAt?!  I LOVE Christmas!! It's obviously just around the corner!! :)

I think I'm calling it an early night tonight.  I'm already trying to fall asleep on the couch!
Tomorrow it's back to work!!

Time for Takeoff

Welp, the time has come.  Okay, not quite.  But it's 24 hours away that we will be taking off to South Dakota.  May I note that this is my first time to this state.  I always like going to new states.  Before I never cared, but once I got out of Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, the normal states that we always visited, I found it more of an excitement to go somewhere new!  Maybe one day I will have visited all 50! :) Anyway, we're getting a little off topic....
Yes, tomorrow at 10:30 we will be taking off.  I am not one for flying.  I mean it's not that bad once I'm in the air, but take off and landing = nerve racking.  I swear I lose my breath and almost have a heart attack every time.  I learned the other day that Trevor DOES NOT like to fly.  I believe I knew this, it was just way in the back of my brain.  This is why I am more nervous this time.  Now I'm going to have to be the tough guy.  More than likely, I will fail as the tough guy.  Trevor's supposed to be the man in this relationship!  As soon as I see him freak, I'll freak.  Sigh.  Speaking of relationship....I don't know if I've mentioned this in my blog before or not, but apparently the thing to do in the Martin family is take your girlfriend to South Dakota, only to bring them back to break up with them.  I mean it's cool I can take it in Louisiana or even Texas, but there's no sense in taking me all the way to South Dakota to do so.  There could've been time and money saved.
ANYWAY....
Tomorrow will be Lailee's first time to get boarded.  As all of you know I am very strangely attached to that dang dog.  Don't judge until you have a dog.  Let me just get off my soapbox, before ya'll really think I'm psychotic.  So tomorrow is her first time to get boarded.  I think I might shed a tear for her.  She will absolutely hate me when I get back.  Probably even ignore me for a few days.  If I have ever went anywhere in the past, she either stayed with my old roomie, Jessica, or somehow it conveniently worked out that I was going home and she would stay with my family.  I think I might take it worse than her for getting boarded.  I mean I know she won't even know what's going on, but it will still break my poor little heart.  It probably wouldn't bother me as bad if people didn't tell me how depressed she gets when I leave.  She won't potty, eat, NOTHING!  She will just mope around.  When the neighbors watched the dogs, her exact words were, "It was the strangest thing I've ever seen.  It was like she was depressed that you were gone!"  Poor Lailee. :'(

Okay, enough about Lailee.  Remember the TO DO list I had to get done before we left?

Yup, look at all those mark outs!  I have one thing left, which will get done today.  I also have a test today. :(  It's not looking too pretty!  Wish me luck.  It. Will. Be.  Needed.
Now there's a new list.  The "Don't Forget" list.

Heard The Rooster Crow

This morning on this lovely Monday, I decided to start something new.  Now, this something new most likely won't last, BUT I am bound and determined that it will last at least for the next 6 work days.  I woke up at 7, to be more specific...6:45.  Ya you read right.  I. WAS. AWAKE. And to put you at more awe, I got out of bed and (wait for it) WENT TO THE GYM. I had an awesome day, and I'm convinced it's because of my awesome attitude that I took on the day with.  I got to the gym thinking everyone and their momma's would be there working out before work, boy was I wrong!  Two old men.  They were the only ones there.  They were so nice too.  Telling me "good morning" and putting me in an even better mood! I tackled my workout and got to work at 10:45.  Go me!! Uh-thank you, uh-thank you.  I would've gotten there earlier, but I had to stop at the store to get some stuff.  Including chips to go with my ham and cheese sliders.  I have my friend Anntonette (who DOESN'T cook) addicted to Pinterest, so now I have her "pinterest"ing recipes. ;)  They were absolutely yummy and I was also so thankful for not having to bring a lunch.  :)  Thanks Nettles, Nette-Nette, Netterbug.

Speaking of getting up this morning....
Every morning Lailee wakes me up to let me know that Trevor has left.  This morning I was up before Trevor left so I woke Lailee up asking if she wanted to go outside.  This is what she looked like...

Once she decided to get out, she went outside, did her business, and came right back to the door.  Another abnormal move.  She normally stays outside for 10 min at the least noseying around.  She came right back in and went right back to that very spot.  She was not a happy camper that I woke her up.  I know I've said a few words about how spoiled she is, but she is also so dramatic.  When she came back inside, she let out a big sigh and went right back to her spot.  She gives me her sassy attitude all the time.
 Let's stay hopeful for Round 2 tomorrow!  7 o'clock here I come!

Also, I don't normally do this, or ask of my facebook/blogger friends of much, but today I have to ask for prayers for my family.  More specifically my mom, stepdad, and sisters!  It would be greatly appreciated!
