Merry Christmas Baby!

In case you were all wondering, yes I made it home!!  Ha, this trip home was the quickest I've had ever!  I drove to Denton to stay with my cousin Wednesday night and drove the rest of the way Thursday.  I met my mom and Mekenna in Amarillo.  Matthew made me wake up EARLY so that we could get home early.  Needless to say, I was extremely tired by the time I actually got home.  

Last night was my aunt and uncle's Christmas party!  They have this every year.  We eat, usually have some drinks, and exchange ornaments!  We exchange ornaments by listening to a story and either pass left or right every time we hear the words left or right.  

These were all the ones we came home with!  My mom worked last night and missed out on the festivities, but I stood in for her and scored jackpot!  She got 2 ornaments!

The snowman and Santa Claus are my mom's, the tree with the snowman is Madison's, the Santa with the bell as his middle is Mekenna's, and the snowman to the far right is mine!

This is the ornament I brought!  Since there is 4 of us, we knew that we would most likely come home with one that we had brought.  We normally do two different stories for two different groups.  The younger and the older.  

This is the one that I ended up with!  Isn't he cute?  

This was Maryn's.  She couldn't wait and put it on the tree as soon as we got home, hence why it was not in the picture of all the ornaments together.  

It was a great party as it is every year!  We had tons of fun!

My mom worked last night, as I had said earlier and is nominating me to go to Dumas today.  Do you know what it means to go to Walmart on Christmas Eve?  Sigh.   Oh well, I guess I'll have to put my big girl panties on and go!  Anything for mom!  After she takes a nap, we will be baking away, wrapping presents and getting ready for Christmas!  As most of you are Christmas Eve people, we are not.  I think we are one of the few that actually open presents on Christmas day.  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!

I'll Be Home For Christmas...

One more work day, then it's headed home!  Christmas came incredibly way too fast this year!  

I have spent my evening baking:

FUDGE!  Sorry it's not rotated.  I was too lazy to do so. 

And Rice Krispies!!!

I hope they turned out okay!  The remainder of my evening has been trying to get ready to head home! Lailee is so fresh and so clean clean and now I have to pack.  Bleh!  I hate packing!!!  I usually over pack!  Oh well, guess I better get after it!

Oh yes, one more thing...
Trevor and I opened presents last night.  No Brian, I did not get something round and sparkly.  Just thought you should know. :)

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

Last time I blogged I had started the countdown to Christmas...now what do ya know it's only 6 days away!!  For those of you who saw on Facebook, I had not done any Christmas shopping as of Thursday morning.  Now look!

Yup, I went shopping Thursday night and wah-lah! Shopping done! Well, I have one more gift to get and then I'll be done.  I'm glad I got it knocked out in one day. And also if you were wondering who's big white box in the front that is....it's mine.  Wrapped by Trevor, yup all by himself!

However, Trevor and I weren't supposed to have Christmas until yesterday, but I had to give him his gift Friday.  I was disappointed that I couldn't "give" it to him in a better way, but it was the only option I had. Nettles had a tahoe that could've fit if the grill was in a box, however I figured that I should get it assembled.  No one had a truck that I knew of and all that I did know that did have trucks were all Trevor's friends, whom I don't have numbers to contact them.  Anyway, I ended up having to wrap up a picture of the grill and had to tell him he had to go pick it up. :(

Trevor and I were supposed to have Christmas last night, but he swore that he didn't have any presents for me yet...thought he was lying.  Totally wasn't.  

So since the semester has ended, I have been patiently waiting for a letter.  So patiently I made myself forget about it and not realize the day that it was supposed to come.  I knew I was getting a letter whether I got accepted or not.  I also knew that it was supposed to be "thick".  I knew this because there was rumor that it was either a big envelope or little and our teacher clarified that it was either thick or thin.  Well it was supposed to be in my mailbox by the 16th.  However the 17th, is when I got it.  I felt it and was like "omg how thick does it have to be".  Luckily only 4 pages thick!!  I was way excited that I cried.  Yup, I had tears.  It wasn't no "boo-hoo" fest, just some tears.  Tears of freaking joy!  AHH!!  For those of you who don't know, I have been trying to get into a program in Tyler since forever!  This was my first year to apply in Shreveport and I got in!  Whew!  I can finally see a very dim light at the end of the tunnel.  I know it's not going to be easy, but I am ready to start this new adventure!!  Finally.  Thank the Lord.

Trevor was proud of me too, so he taped it to the fridge.  Ha.  (the fridge is stainless steel so magnets won't hold) 

Thursday I'm headed back to Sunray for Christmas with the fam!  I heard it's literally a blizzard there so maybe we'll have a white Christmas!! :)

Nothing to Everything

Just to warn everyone before they start to read...I have lots of random things to say....

Remember a few blogs back when I was complaining of being by myself and having nothing to do? Well, that'll change this weekend, cause this weekend it will go from no one here but me for a whole week to having guests!  Yup, Abby is coming this weekend to celebrate some more for her 21st birthday that was yesterday! So Happy Birthday yesterday Abby!!!  I'm so excited!  We also have Trevor's company Christmas party this weekend.  Ugh...it's always a fun time, I just hate having to find something to wear. :|

A big THANK YOU to Amy for cutting my hair yesterday!  I hadn't had one since August!!  I'm sure it was awful!  But I think I love her for taking the time out of her schedule to come cut my hair!!  :)

Trevor got a new phone while he was on "vacation".  He got an iPhone and now thinks he's cooler than me because his iPhone is better than mine. *eye roll*  He also showed me all the cool things his phone does that mine does not.  *eye roll*  For all of those who don't know what the new iPhone 4S does, you can ask it any question and it will respond.  *eye roll*  So the other night Trevor said I was being mean to him, so he said he was going to ask Siri (the device that you ask any question to).  He asked it if I was being mean to him, which I thought was ridiculous.  However she said that she, "couldn't understand what he was saying about Mekayla". He then asked her again and she decided that she would call me.  So the dang phone called me.  It's slightly ridiculous.  *eye roll*  

The dogs were cuddling last night and it was quite possibly the cutest thing they've ever done.  I wanted to get a picture, but as soon as I took it they moved.

It's probably too dark for you to see them, but they were pretty much cuddling like so but Jersey's head was closer and Lailee's head was down.  They were spooning.  They act like lesbos sometimes.  

The other night it snowed.  YES! S-N-O-W!! I know it like never snows in Louisiana in December.  I mean it hardly ever snows at all, but it really never snows in December.  This morning I woke up and glanced outside...I was like OMG IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT! And Trevor had just left for work, so I was about to be incredibly mad at him for not letting me know there was snow on the ground.  After I got out of my sleep stupor, I realized it was just frost, but it still excited me! ;) That's how pathetic I am. 

Before I end this blog, I'm going to take a moment to be partially cheesy.  I want to remind all of you and hope that all of you remember yourselves what Christmas and this holiday season is about.  I've had a friend be extremely nice because she's in the "holiday mood".  She's been doing generous things for me and I greatly appreciate it.  She probably doesn't know that all the little things she's been doing, I have really appreciated because she's been doing them out of the kindness of her heart.  Also, there has been many sweet people that have been extremely kind to my family during this difficult time they are going through.  So I just want to remind all you what the holiday season is about and thank everyone who has been so sweet and kind to me and my family.  For those of you who have forgotten, don't be ashamed because I'm pretty for sure this is one of the first and not last that I've actually taken a step back and realized what Christmas is about.  It's most definitely not a time to be greedy.  We actually have a family at work that all of us are buying gifts for, which I will do too, but since I haven't gotten around to buying anything, just the thought of doing something for someone else has made me feel like a better person.

It's Beginning to LOOK A Lot Like Christmas!!!

Trevor finally made it home!! Hip Hip Hooray!!  Which also means we got the tree up!  

(this is with the lights on, so that you can see ALL the colors)  However, yes it is a little red because I had red from last year and I got a combo pack of red and gold and red and green this year.  So my ornaments were mostly red.  Which I don't even know why I'm explaining myself because had I wanted it to be all red then I would've made it all red.  So there Nick.

I also put up all my other decorations last night. :)

My "Nativity scene".  Ha.  I improvised. But a huge shout out to my mom for giving me a lot of her old decorations that she was no longer going to use.  Such as this "nativity scene".  I put it all together with the picture frame though. ;)

J-O-Y!

Wreath!  There's a couple of things about this wreath.  #1 It lights up, but I currently do not have an extension cord to light it up.  #2 I realize it's not perfectly circular.  It was at a time.   I don't know if it got squished in my car or what.  But I tried to fix it and I just gave up because my fingers were sensitive from poking the little tie things to put the ornaments on into my finger multiple times.  :|

the fireplace!!! My favorite part!!  You can't really tell, but I tied a "M" to the red one and a "T" to the green one so Santa wouldn't get confused.  ;)

I am so excited that everything is finally up!  You all know how much I love Christmas time!  It also even felt like it today because it was cold and rainy.  So I made chicken tortilla soup! 

And since it rained non-stop all day today, I put sweaters on the dogs because I was tired of them coming back soaked from head to tail.  When I did this, they would only come back with wet feet and wet heads....

Jersey never wears sweaters, so I figured I had to get a picture. Ha!

Hot Date

As most of you just saw on Facebook, yes I am having a hot date with myself.  

Pizza, Lailee, Jersey, a movie, and maaaaybe just maybe an iced drink. 

Trevor, or as some as you might know him Sugar Bear, needs to hurry buns back.  I am running out of things to talk about with the dogs.  Seriously.  How do people live by themselves? Now I feel sorry for my great grandma.  Like I don't think I could do it everyday.  Going to work, etc. it's not bad because I get human interaction, but when I get home it's just me and the dogs and the T.V.  

However, I am like I said in my previous blog, getting to watch all my fave Christmas movies that I probably wouldn't have gotten to watch had he been home.  ;)

Anyway, yesterday at work, was crazy busy.  You laugh, but my hand was cramping up. And I'm not being overdramatic.  We had to close files, send out a 500-600 piece mail out, and do our other everyday other activities.  However, I was more closing files than mailing out, but when I did help with the mail out, my hand was no kidding cramping.  I had to "un-stick" it.  Swear.  

Remember when I said I was going to put my Pinterest weekend on hold?  Well it's tomorrow!  Yup, my very own Pinterest day.  I will be Pinterest-ing it up! Some crafting, and some just putting ideas together.  Yay! So excited!  So my day tomorrow will be busy packed with shopping and crafting!  I, however, have to go find me something to wear to the Christmas party.  If what I found online is actually in the store, I will have no problem.  The odds should be on my side because this store is a little shop, not a chain store, so when I say that I looked online, it's actually their Facebook page.  So fingers crossed! If not, I will probably, most likely, throw a fit.  

Oh and also another reason sugar bear needs to return is because our tree is NOT up! Yes I said NOT! Ugh, everyone else's is!!  I know he left it up in the attic because he wants to help me put it up.  I just know that's exactly the reason he left it up there.  I could most likely get it down by myself, but we'll just continue saying that I can't, so that he will have to help!  ;)  My fall decorations are still out because I like having a wreath on that big scary door and I am not done with my Christmas wreath yet.  This behavior is most definitely anti-Mekayla.  I need my Christmas decorations up pronto!
