FAT Tuesday!

Today was Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras!!  And it was a b-e-a-u-tiful day!!  Forget what I said about Sunday possibly being spring...today definitely made a statement on whether or not it was spring time or not.  I'm not going to lie, I have been pretty upset about the warm weather.  I really like the cold and snow and we just did not have cold weather this winter.  :((  (that's my super sad face)  I guess that's why I'm not ready for the warmer weather!  

Yes, I have shorts on.  Yes I need to work on my tan...that's a work in progress.  However on this beautiful day, I had to study!!  Sad sad day.  But I did the best I could to enjoy this beautiful day by studying outside!  

And took my study partners with me.  They are such great supporters and motivators! Ha!

Speaking of Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras...look what I found today!  

Yup, Mardi Gras wine glasses!!  They were regular $20 and I got them for $10! Uh, hello!  Sale and cute?  Of course I had to get them!

Funny part is when I was buying them, I told my friend that Trevor was probably going to flip because he just cleaned out the "wine cabinet" and we had just discovered we had entirely too many wine glasses.  I was a matter of fact correct!  I said, "Aren't they cute?!"...."oooh uh huh"....."you don't like them?"....."Ya, but I just cleaned that cabinet out...where are we going to put them?" Uh, hello we will find a place for them because I decided you can never have too many wine glasses. ;)

Speaking of Fat Tuesday again....I cooked jambalaya and cornbread for supper!  Mr. Zatarain lent me his recipe. ;)  However, I did add my own sausage if that counts!  Which turned out to be a bad idea because it made it EXTREMELY hot!  I tried to tough it out and act like Trevor was being a baby, but my eyes even started watering.  And then I used the whole, "I was helping you out because you said you couldn't breathe...well this should definitely open up your sinuses!!" ;)  It didn't work out for me so much, but oh well.  How was I supposed to know it was mega hot sausage?!  It was pretty darn good anyway.

We also got a few things done around the house today.  Some men finally came and chopped down a part of the tree in the front yard before it fell on top of my car!  Ha, it might've not been that bad but it was getting there.  Aaaannndd the most exciting part....the hot water heater got fixed!! Whoop! Can't wait to take a shower and enjoy it and not wonder how long it would be until it was a lukewarm shower!!

Work in the morning, test tomorrow afternoon, cleaning the house, class Thursday, then my mom will be here! Yay!!!

Five on Monday!

   This past weekend I had every intention on being absolutely lazy.  Feel free to think whatever you want to of me, but I really didn't care if I ever even put a drop of make up on or did my hair this weekend.  However, that was not how it turned out.  Which is okay, because we got to hang out with some friends.  Friday night started like that....being lazy and all until Trevor got called out.  I was going to stay and continue to be lazy, but tagged along instead because I noticed that 2 shows were being recorded and I wasn't going to be able to watch anything else, unless I went to the bedroom.  Where I was most likely to fall asleep at 8 o'clock.  I don't know if the week had finally caught up to me or what but I was completely exhausted all weekend.  I had no energy to do anything.  

Saturday Jessica and Levi came back into town.  One of Levi's favorite bands were going to be at a bar and he wanted to go.  We tagged along for a little while.  We had supper with them, and listened to the first two bands and then headed home at about 12. 

1.  I have some good news!  My cold sore is almost gone!!! It's about 90% gone and I am ecstatic!!  I just knew that it would stick around for a long time.  However the fact that it is almost gone doesn't make Trevor stop making jokes.  I was the one who said it was so big it was talking to everyone and he apparently thought it was funny because yesterday in church he informed me that it looked better and that it was only whispering to people now and not yelling.  :|  

Then he continued with I should've taken a picture of it so it could go into the Guinness Book of Records and Abreva could reach out to me so that I could be their spokesperson.  :|

Oh what a sweet boyfriend I have!

I just know he will get one in return of all this joking he is doing.  But then again maybe his payback has already taken action.  He said he has been feeling a little under the weather....so maybe this is his karma.

2.  My mom and Jeff are coming Thursday and I'm super excited!!  I haven't seen my family since Christmas! They will be staying the weekend.  They are currently in Houston, but they didn't know when they would be down there, so they couldn't exactly book hotels until last minute....which is why they are coming here.  The rodeo will be in town and all hotels are booked!

I informed my mom I was taking Friday off so that we could have the whooole day together! She was excited as well!

3.  This week should be a pretty okay week.  Today, Tuesday and half of Wednesday is Mardi Gras break!!!  Monday doesn't effect me because I don't have class on Monday anyway, but Tuesday I don't have class!!  Wednesday my class usually starts at 10, but since Mardi Gras break goes until 12 on Wednesday...we don't have class until 1, which we will be taking a test.  Thursday I will have class and then Friday we are out again!!  YAY!!  Hence why I am taking off of work Friday.  

4.  Trevor made me do an ab workout with him last MONDAY! Yes, last Monday and I am still sore!! All week last week, I was nauseous I was so sore.  IT. WAS. RIDICULOUS. He thought I was lying, but I can assure you that I was not.  Now he thinks he's a great trainer because I worked out with him one time and was sore for a week.  Wait, was sore? I still am.  Just not near as bad...thank goodness.  

5.  Yesterday felt just like Spring.  It was pretty warm outside so I took the dogs for a walk.  The icecream man was even driving his little icecream truck around!  I thought that was a little much because it wasn't that warm outside.  Trevor got invited to play basketball yesterday afternoon.  He went and played for about 2 hours.  He invited me to come watch, and now I wish I would've.  I think it would've been quite entertaining.  I chose to stay home and study like the good student I am.  Pffff.

Mardi Gras Day!

Another Mardi Gras has passed!  And it was quite the successful one!  Fun was had by all...or for atleast Trevor and I.  I can't speak for everyone.  This year we will only be attending one weekend of Mardi Gras.  Trevor is on call next weekend.

One bad thing did happen Saturday.  Later on in the night, I realized I didn't have my ring on!  I was so upset!!  There was no doubt in my mind that it had come off while taking my gloves off so much to go to the bathroom!  Ugh.  Anyway, the next day (yesterday) Trevor and I went to look.  I knew that it was pretty much pointless, but I felt like it was going to make me feel better at least knowing that I went and looked.  

After about 5 minutes....viola! There it was!!  I was so excited!!!!!!

So I saw the new commercial for the iPhone 4s and I feel discriminated by it.  If that even makes sense.  This couple is going on a road trip and asks Siri all these questions along the way.  Like "Where's the nearest gas station" and "How do you get to such and such place from here".  Anyway I really wasn't paying attention, but I heard Amarillo.  I was like, "whoa did I just hear Amarillo on T.V.?"

So I rewound it.  

The girl...asks Siri...if there are any rodeos in Amarillo.  Seriously?!  I feel a little discriminated once again. It's already bad enough that when I moved to Louisiana that I got asked if I owned horses and lived in the country since I'm from Texas.  I am completely proud of where I come from, but Apple iPhone commercial, you so did not just make anything better.  

Tomorrow is Love Day...Valentine's Day.  Hope you all are prepared to woo your loved ones! 

Super Bowl Sunday!

This past weekend flew by like a jet plane.  Okay, maybe that wasn't a good reference, but you get the point.  Friday night we didn't do too much because A) Trevor was having to get up early and B) I had CPR class.  So Friday for me really didn't feel like my weekend quite yet.  Saturday morning Trevor went to support his friend in a Chili Cook-off in Minden (a few miles away) for a St. Jude fundraiser thing.  He was there until I got out of CPR and we got home at exactly the same time.  My CPR class wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  Instead of it saying that it was going to last 4 hours, it only lasted 3.  And it flew by....luckily.  

After we got home we went out to his other friends and cooked out and just hung out.  It was a fun time!  

Super Bowl Sunday, however, was fun, but consisted of 

ME. TREVOR. LAILEE. JERSEY.

We are so fun!  My mom went to my grandmas, well apparently all my family went to my grandmas and had a bigger party than Trevor and I did.  Ridic.  

However, like I said we had a fun time.  We weren't really pumped for the game because neither of us liked either team.  I started to get semi-pumped because it's still the Super Bowl.  Trevor never really got on my level.  We did have some pretty scrumptious food though!

We had Mexican Roll-ups.  I got this recipe from Pinterest.  Trevor didn't exactly like them much.  I enjoyed them, but they could've been better. 

Then Trevor made nachos.  Simple, but still delish.

Then there were the oh-so-healthy-bacon-wrapped-smokies!  Pretty much a heart attack waiting to happen.  

And last, but not least, dessert!  Can't go wrong or without dessert!  They were brownie/cookie bars.  Trevor got all technical and heated them up and put ice cream on top!  He was serious about his dessert!  

I will let ya'll in on a little secret.  I love watching football, don't get me wrong, but I had a rough past week and I miiiight've fallen asleep. 

Okay, I fell asleep.

Not something I'm proud of....falling asleep during the Super Bowl, but it happened.  It was only like a 15 min nap I'm pretty for sure, but whatever.  Ha!  I did however enjoy the half-time show.  I've seen worse anyways!!

Can't wait till next year when the Cowboys go to the Super Bowl! ;)
