About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

Keep Calm & Listen to Adele

This past weekend I left Trevor, Lailee, and Jersey behind.  I packed my bags (once again) and headed to Houston! It was extremely nice to see everyone!! I definitely didn't stay long enough! :(
Stupid school.
Stupid work.

Speaking of school...here lately I have been finding myself in the bathtub, sippin' on some wine, candle(s) lit, and Adele radio on Pandora.  School is just unhealthy.  It causes so much stress.  And this whole time I thought it was Trevor....ha! I'm so crazy.... uh huh.
***Seriously though if you want some relaxing bath music.  Adele radio.***

It plays everything from today to 90s to "Stand By Me". (whatever year that was)
Anyway tomorrow is my last day...for a week atleast.  And I will try to enjoy every minute of it I can.   I got to thinking and we will basically be in school for 2 years straight.  Blah.
[2 papers, 2 comps, 11 days, 1 conference, and 1 meeting left for summer]
[However, 2 more Christmases and 1 more birthday till I graduate. Blah.]

Speaking of my paper...Let me just remind you all who are no longer in school how much school sucks!  Monday as I am pulling up to work, I check my Facebook.  I see that a guy from my class posted a status about our paper due in a few weeks.  I started reading the comments and to my amazement, we had an outline due MONDAY.  Oh, Mekayla don't freak it's due today and you just now found out about it TODAY! Seriously?! I mean I realize it was just an outline, but I hadn't even started gathering ideas about my paper, aaaand I was just getting to work where I would have to be for the next 5-6 hours and would be computer/internet less.  Except for my phone.  Blah. Blah. And some more blah.  As I was in panic mode, I started searching through my binder.  As I have learned in the past, print off everything your teacher posts.  Well....my teacher.  I was wondering how I could miss this, since I had everything printed off.  I checked the calendar:  nothing.  I checked the syllabus:  nothing.  Okay, it had absolutely been proven that the guy in my class on Facebook is LYING!  I started to question him... he informs me where I could find this lovely information.  Any guesses on where I could find this lovely information?? Don't waste your thinking.  BECAUSE IT WAS ON PAGE 4 OF 14 IN FINE PRINT THAT AN OUTLINE WAS DUE A WEEK AFTER OUR TOPIC.
Totally cool.
NOT! Thanks there teach.  I love doing homework at the last minute under stress.  Should've read my thesis.. It was definitely an award winner! :|
When in the world did she think that I was going to read a 14 page paper on how to write my paper and find that I needed to do an outline?!  Sheesh.
School sucks.

***Note: I am a huge procrastinator...so had I known about this I probably wouldn't have done it till the day it was due anyway, I just like knowing that I am going to procrastinate. ;) ***

Bor-ation

So this weekend NOTHING was going on.  And to make it worse...Trevor was on call.
We were pretty bored aaalllll weekend.  We did however eat crawfish Friday night probably for the last time of the year.  They were getting hard to peel, which is apparently a sign of nearing the end of the season.

Last night we watched The Sitter.  Pretty good, pretty funny.  Trevor also made his own creation of Chinese food.  To my surprise...it was actually extremely tasty! Prop to Chef Trevor.  I think his exact words were, "See Sugs aren't you glad you're with someone that can cook".  He's always giving himself props.

Today we went to the pool. We're thinking about...no probably are joining. (Since we have to become members)  It was pretty nice and enjoyable.

A perfect kinda Sunday.

Jersey likes being outside.  All the time.  But the other day it was a little hot and when she finally decided to come in......

she looked like she had died! Ha. Crazy mutt.

Although we didn't do much this weekend, I was kinda glad.  You need a relaxing weekend every once in a while.

Salsa & Sunshine!

Saturday Trevor and I packed our bags again and headed west. Only for a short 80 or so miles.
We haven't been to Tyler in a long time! I kinda miss it!  (and all the little non chain restaurants they have)
Trevor's intentions for the weekend: SALSA.
My intentions? POOL.
We both accomplished every little bit of our intentions.
I seriously laid out from about 12 till 5. With potty breaks, chips and salsa, and pool breaks in between. I loved every second of it and gave me even more reason to beg Trevor every day for a pool. (Thanks Ron and Pam)  Don't worry it'll never happen.  Everything I seem to beg for never happens.  Maybe I'll eventually catch the hint. ;)

Before we left Tyler, it was only mandatory to have to stop for some Andy's icecream! Yummmmmm!

For all of you observant people that have read the book...you might recognize the cover in the corner of my picture...

Why yes, I am reading 50 Shades of Grey.
HOLY
SMOOOKES!
I have nothing to say about this book.  It has left me speechless.  I will say that it's not for everyone and that it happens to be pretty good. (In my opinion...again not for everyone)
This is the first book since Twilight that has kept my attention.  (You know, cause I read so much)
It's crazy how last week I didn't even know what this book was all about and this week I can't put it down.  Oh and also it was 20% off.  That was a plus.
I'll leave you with this: My aunt read it and my grandma picked it up...they immediately took it out of her hands.

So this would make this week my second week to be at the hospital for clinic.  Yip-pee.  Can you sense my sarcasm?? Ha, nah it's really not that bad.  My feet would however disagree.  :(

Oh yes, how could I forget?! My birthday was yesterday!  Whoo. The Big 2-3.  I officially have nothing to look forward to but getting old.  ***super sad face***
My day was just another day.  Went to work for a few hours, had lunch with Amy, had a meeting for school, laid out again, ate supper (catered by Trevor and some new restaurant he decided to try out I can't remember the name), and watched The Bachelorette.  Don't judge I hate the show and stopped watching but found myself watching it once again.  It's so fake.  Anyway, I also got some pretty gorgeous flowers!
What? Just another day?! Who am I kidding?!  It's not everyday that Trevor brings me flowers and dinner. Yup, not just another day, and extraordinary day!

And I also got these amazingly beautiful birthstone earrings from my family!  I LOVE them!

Thanks for everyone who made my day amazing!

P.S. PLEASE IGNORE my layout of my blog.  I have been having technical difficulties.  One day I will find the time to figure out how to work the new layout. :(

We're In The NOLA babbbay!

Nola...Nola...Nola...
Let's try to remember our trip to Nola.
We drank, we sight saw (is that right??), we drank, we shopped, we ate, we drank, we took a carriage ride!!, we listened to bands, we drank, we walked around, we drank, we threw beads, we drank.  Did I mention that we drank? New Orleans is a dangerous place to be! 3 beers for 1! Craaazy!
I don't know how many of you watch The Real World, I used to all the time, however I do not anymore.  The last one I watched was Real World: New Orleans and that's just because I like seeing places on T.V. that I've been to.  Weird, I know.  Anyway...every time it started it had a little theme song and at the end of the "song" one of the girls yelled, "We're in the NOLA baaaabaay!" So I pretty much said that all weekend and drove Trevor crazy! haha.
We were going to take a Swamp Tour, but Trevor didn't think it'd be worth it.  I think he just wanted to take one so I would scream bloody murder when an alligator would come up.  I probably would've gotten kicked off the boat.  The tours were at 8 and 10...when Saturday morning came we or I was glad we chose NOT to do the Swamp Tour. :)
It was a good time and also our first trip together a l o o o o n e!
I would say that it was a good first trip!

We had to go to Jimmy Buffets just to go sit at the bar to sit in the swings. ;)

OKAY! I'm very frustrated and tired of messing with it, but an awesome video was supposed to be inserted here but I have been trying for hours and it won't. So I give up!  I will try again next time! :(

After NOLA, was back to reality.  I was hitting tis week hard.  Meeting on Monday at 9, then work, then Tuesday-Thursday clinic from 8-4! I was tired just about every day this week.   :( I know feel sorry for me.  I wanted to go to bed at 9 last night.  Trevor called me a "mamaw".
I really thought that I was going to be insanely nervous/sick for clinic, but surprisingly I was nervous but not AS nervous as I thought I would be.  My first week went pretty well!
1 week down, many more to go!

Trevor grilled some fish last night and always was finger lickin' good, but he said it was Pinterest-able.  So since I don't know how to add stuff to Pinterest.. Blogger will have to work. ;)
Those there taters were made by muah! Thanks to Amy "Deen's" fine recipe.

(excuse the one bite of fish that is missing ;) )

That's pretty much all that's been going on in my life! Just a little excitement! ;)
