About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

Guess What Today Is?!

If you guessed Two-Cents Tuesday, you guessed correctly!
When I tell you I was hungry all day today, I am telling no lie.  I don't know what my problem was today, but I was hungry.  So today when I got home I decided I was having a fatty meal for supper.  And it was the best decision I've made all day.  I'm not even regretting those chicken strips dipped in mashed potatoes and gravy right now.  I even read once somewhere that you need to eat one bad meal a week to throw your body off....whether that's true or not I completely and 110% believe in that rule.
So what's my two cents for the day?
EAT A FATTY MEAL EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE.  Every girl needs to.

Two-Cents Tuesday

Well it's Two Cents Tuesday again...
What's my two-cents for the day? My sisters did not get their basketball skills from me.
As much as I try to tell people they did.....

they most definitely did not.

Mekenna and her team headed to the playoffs tonight for the second time..... don't ask me what that was because I don't know the order of basketball advancement etc. I ran in high school because that was the only coordination I had.
Anyway, it was such a good game! They unfortunately lost, but I was yelling, I got goose-bumps, I got excited, I got nervous, it was a very emotionally exhausting game to listen to!
The game had started at 6:30, but I was still on the treadmill.  Fortunately there was no one in the workout room while I was in there or else they were about to listen to a Sunray Play-off Basketball game. :)
The commentators said sister was the leading score with 12 points! Way to go sister!!! You played an EXCELLENT game!
Way to go LadyCats for advancing to the play-offs this year! I enjoyed watching all of you play the times I was home and even enjoyed listening to ya'll as well!

My wittle sister is all growed up! Gone are the days of basketball games (for her anyway)!! I think I might cry....

Monday Already?!

This weekend was definitely not a normal weekend for me.  And I can assure you that it probably won't be my last.
I had to drive to Tulsa Thursday night so I could be there by Friday morning to go take the compatibility test at the church to get that ball rollin.  As soon as I arrived Thursday, we went to a friend's birthday party at the bowling alley where everyone made fun of Trevor because I was beating him.  I guess he got embarrassed and really started concentrating or just started having good luck because he beat me in the end.
Friday morning, I woke up at 7:30 to be able to go to the church as soon as they opened since they close at 12 on Fridays and we were told the test was going to take some time.
After all that we had a delicious lunch, ran some errands, attempted all day to get a dinner plan since our other plans fell through, and waited for Babe and Brian to get there.
We ended the day watching Captain Phillips.  If you haven't watched it... Go now. :)
Saturday I had to wake up early again.... (if you haven't caught on yet I had to wake up early all weekend :( ) This time I had to go get my mom from the airport and then head to my first wedding dress shopping extravaganza!
Wedding dress shopping
IS.
EX
HAUST
ING.
I had an appointment at 11 but got there 30 min. early and it was a good thing too. We left there and went to the next store to make it there by 1. After we finished there we headed to go check the venue out, since I had yet to see it.
Yes..... you read right.
I trusted Trevor enough to make a decision on a venue, since they were filling up fast and I wasn't going to be able to make it to Tulsa until this past weekend.
Good news..... it was a hit in my books! So yay!
By this time it was about 4:00 so you best believe ol girl was HONGARY. We hadn't eaten all day and like I said wedding dress shopping
IS.
EX
HAUST
ING.
We finally met up with the guys for some much needed food and drinks and ended the night once again exhausted.
Sunday was church so up and at 'em again.  I am not a morning person whatsoever.  Never have been and chances are I never will be.  I mean I haven't made it this far in life not being a morning person for no reason.
After church was back to the dress shop to make a very big and exciting purchase!

I honestly had no intentions on finding the perfect dress, it just kind of panned out like that.  I am glad I found it, even though not everyone that I wanted to be there was there.  It will take 4 months for the dress to come and then another possible 2-3 months for alterations.
Ah! So long!
This morning I got up and headed home to Shreveport! Won't be long until I won't have to make that drive ever again! Whew! Countdown is on.
It is absolutely gorgeous outside and I'm stuck in this crummy ol' office.  Why don't we get President's Day off like everyone else?!
This weekend was exhausting, but fun nonetheless! (I am definitely ready for bed tonight)
I am loving all this wedding planning!
A huge thanks to my mom, Babe, and Jessica for helping me find the perfect dress!

Two-Cents Tuesday

Two-Cents Tuesday: Life's not fair.

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of my stepdad's passing.
I hate that I don't have the answers for my sisters when they talk to me about it or even hate the fact that sometimes I have no idea what to say.
That being said... Please pray for my family today.
Pray that they get through this day and find some sort of answer to put them more at ease. Pray that they will always be there for each other, no matter what.
It's hard for me to believe that it's already been one whole year.
Keep shining through all of our lives...

& this is life as I know it...

Ten On Thursday

1. Remember the other day when I said I came home and cuddled with my sweet girl?
And you know that moment when you're laying in bed looking at your phone and it all the sudden just falls and meets with your face?! Well that happened during our cuddle time the other day EXCEPT I wasn't the victim.  Lailee was. Ha... oops!
She was asleep and then all the sudden turned into the mad cat.

2. I had my first King Cake of the year the other day!! Mmmm so yum! Better enjoy them this year since this will be the last of my Louisiana years. *tear*

3.  Speaking of King Cake... I take that back.  I should probably lay off the King Cake's....
cause this girl's going wedding dress shopping in a couple of weeks!
Whoop!!

4.  Wedding dress shopping you say?! Uh yes.... we are almost 8 months away from the big day!! Ah!

5. Countdowns are definitely a priority in my life these days.
3 months and 2 days until graduation
Approximately 28 days until the last day of clinic
2 months 3 weeks and 2 days until I am moving out of my apartment!!
Some odd days until my Bachelorette Party
{no date is set in stone but who wouldn't be counting down to their Bachelorette Party, I mean really}
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
8 months and 5 days until the big day!

6. I made my first mMm purchases the other day.  Ya talk all you want.  Plenty of people have told me that it's perfectly fine, so why the heck not.

7. Yes, I am going to be a triple M. Who will ever have a mess up in their monogram? Not me! It doesn't matter if you get them out of order because it's all one letter! ;)

8.  Trevor is finally coming to see me! After far too long.

9. But I have to go pick him up like an hour away because he is riding in with a friend that is stopping before Shreveport.

10. He needs to get here quick because I have wine that's trapped in a bottle that I need to save!

Two-Cents Tuesday

Today started off pretty good for me.  I woke up earlier than I normally do and was most likely going to be early/on time rather than running late like I normally am.
UNTIL.....
I opened the door and it was a torrential down pour. No joke.  I took Lailee out to go potty and that was when all things went down hill.  She refused to go potty even after becoming a soaking wet dog. I then yelled at her like she was a child.  Urgh.  We both got soaking wet and what was it for?
Nothing.
THEN....
I start my voyage to clinic.  I am going slow already and am still hydroplaning every 2 seconds and I finally got to a point on the interstate where traffic was stopped due to a wreck on the exit that I was suppose to be taking.  That my friends is when I gave up.  The rule of thumb with clinic is if you're going to be more than 15 minutes late you might as well miss clinic because that counts as an absence.
SO...
I headed back home.  Where I

cuddled with my sweet sleepy girl and watched all my morning shows and may have even took a little cat nap. I also

made chili! These two things are just to say the least. :)

My two cents for the day:
Today would've been a better day to not have to go to clinic rather than an extremely cold day last week.  My conditions driving today were far worse than last week. :)

Andd 4 weeks is far too long to go without seeing your fiancé!
