About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

Third Times A Charm

Okay, so there's a wedding that we are attending coming up this weekend.  I have been looking and looking and looking for something to wear.  And I'm not exaggerating or being dramatic.  I bought a dress the first time thinking that I wouldn't have any time to go shopping again and I would have to buy something that day.  Well, I had a chance again.  So I went again and really still didn't find anything.  I once again settled on another one thinking this time that I definitely didn't have time to find anything before this weekend due to my busy schedule.  Well what do ya know!!  Found dress #3 finally something that I liked... YAY! Geez, shopping can be so stressful!  Now I can take back dress #1 and dress #2 and get my money back! Whoop!!

Although I had already blogged Monday, I almost did it again for the second time Monday night.  I definitely had a Monday.  It was not a good day at all!  Almost everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong.  Jersey threw up twice that morning, I broke a mirror (a tiny compact one but still a mirror), the sink in the kitchen finally officially broke so it sucks doing dishes, (that was until Trevor rigged it with some tape), *PAUSE*

and since my book is out of stock how in the world am I supposed to do my homework?  This was a question I asked my teacher.  Who by the way does not even live in the same state.  Who gets to teach in another state while living in a different one?  Anyway, she informed me that I could use my powerpoint that she so sweetly gave us.  I knew that it was due Monday by 7 so I began working on it Monday morning, since I didn't know how to complete the assignment until then.  I logged on to my school website and could not find it anywhere. Loooked foooor foooorrreeeevver.  FOREVER! Finally I emailed her and she basically called me crazy because the assignment was still there.  I double checked due to the fact that I have been overlooking stuff that is even right in front of me here lately.  Still nothing.  I looked for it until the due date was up.  I finally emailed her a pic of my computer screen.  She finally believed me.  I'm telling you Monday was definitely a Monday.

Have I mentioned that it's pretty hard being a Texan living in Louisiana?? Yup, this Texas girl had to get up at the crack of dawn to drive to Marshall, TEXAS before work to get an inspection sticker for her car! Sheesh.  On the better side I got to work early....more hours = more money! :)

Tomorrow's Thursday which means it's my last day of work for the week.  Since we're leaving Friday for the wedding, I am not working Friday. And guess what else??  Labor Day is Monday so no work again!  I'm looking forward to that 4 day weekend!! :)

And The List Goes On & On...

This weekend was absolutely, without a doubt, non-stop!  But tons of fun!
Friday, if you all remember, I went into work at 7:30, so that I could be off by 1, so that we could leave between 4 & 5, so that we could make it to Ruston (an hour and some change away) for the concert.
Trevor got home at 4 and we were leaving by 4:30.  When we arrived, we went and ate at a place called the Doghouse.  I had a burger and it was pretty great, although I could've eaten the bun by itself.  =S
We then headed over to the concert!
The line to get in...

Yes I have seen Gary Alan before... but he never gets old!  He's amazing every time! I jam to my favorite song-Kiss Me When I'm Down- every single time too!!  No that link is not my video, however Trevor attempted to get a picture of me jamming on my phone, but fortunately he was unsuccessful.  He thought he was taking pictures, but was taking videos.  So as an end result, there was about 10 videos that were just about 2 sec. each. :)

When we arrived back home Saturday, we quickly ate lunch and headed up to the football field.  Trevor had promised Jacob, Trevor's friend Karl's son, that he'd come watch his PeeWee Football game.  We had just paid $4, which I realize isn't much but, it is when you were there for only 2 seconds!  We walked in as they were announcing that the game was over.  I tried to get Trevor to play it off that we had seen everything, but he wasn't too good at it.  Jacob ran up to Trevor and asked if he had seen his touchdown, his tackles, etc.  Poor boy, Trevor had missed it all.  And of course it was my fault.

Afterwards we came back and took naps.  They were well needed.  When we woke up we headed to the Boardwalk for Melissa's 30th Surprise Birthday Party!  Which was held at O'Briens.  We stayed there for the majority of the evening.
Sunday Trevor unfortunately (on his part) got volunteered to go shopping!  He was absolutely thrilled. We finished up the day with cleaning. =|  And watching the rest of the VMA's.
Needless to say it was quite the busy weekend and next weekend will be just as busy as will the week!!

F.O.R.D.

Deeeeaaarr car of mine,
If you continue to give me trouble, we just might have to break up.  Okay, who am I kidding? I can't afford to break up with you.  But seriously if you keep giving me trouble, just so you know I will be seriously considering it.  Not only will I be considering a break up, but may consider falling into one of the groups, such as the Fixed ORepaired Daily group. = |
Love,
-Your one and only driver

Okay so enough of the mumbo-jumbo.  My poor car I swear is breaking down slowly.  Here lately, it's been so needy!  First brakes, now and alternator?  I'm afraid to ask "what's next?", so I won't.  Luckily my who I thought wasn't so mechanically inclined boyfriend turns out to be somewhat mechanically inclined.  He didn't know so much know how to change my brakes and what not, but his luck stood in for his inability to change brakes because the place he took it to, forgot to charge maintenance.  However, Saturday night Jessica and I were on our way back from our nice dinner at Superior!  It broke down.  Luckily we made it home and it is now up and running again.  Whew!

Speaking of Jessica...she came to see me this past weekend!!  Trevor was gone for a Bachelor Party and so was Levi.  Leaving Jessica and I alone in two separate towns...so duh Girls Weekend!  Friday we finally got to watch Something Borrowed.  We both had read the book and had been trying to wait patiently for the movie to come out.  Saturday, we went shopping and had dinner at my fave mexican restaurant!  It's starting to make it's way down the list because they no longer have flavored margaritas!  Hello?!  Pomegranate margarita = best ever! *sigh*  Afterwards we treated ourselves to a night on the town.  Okay, it wasn't as extravagant as it just sounded.  Don't get me wrong, we had a lot of fun, but we only went dancing to one place.  Ha, it was enough fun for us though!

School started back up Tuesday.  Whoop-dee-doo!!! Just another thing to *sigh* about.  I have a pretty sa-weet schedule so I guess I can't complain.  This girl just wants to graduate, that's all.  I'm pretty for sure as long as I have been going to school that I could've paid someone for a degree!  I do have a class this semester that I'm pretty scared about!  I hope it's not as bad as I think it's going to be!! Prayers would be great!  Especially for when I apply- I'll find out in December!! *FINGERS CROSSED* (& TOES)

Today I was abnormally exhausted!  So tonight I actually cleaned out the bathtub (since no one ever uses it) and am treating myself to a hot bath! :)  I have to get to bed early because I have to be at work by 7:30!  I switched shifts because we are going to Ruston tomorrow for Gary Alan and Josh Abbott!!! YAY!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

BEWARE!

OF LONG BLOG!! I mean what did you expect? I've been gone for forever!  And this time it wasn't because I have had nothing to talk about, but because I've been busier than a bee! ;)
I'll start with Mekenna's week long stay.
I believe that I told you all that I picked her up from the airport and that she was staying for a week.  I'm sure she was bored because I chose to work while she was here, due to the fact that I was going to be off all week the next week.  She worked out with me in the mornings, but was lazy during the day and in the evenings we didn't really do anything, but what Trevor and I normally do.  Sorry SkinSkin.  (SkinSkin was a nickname she developed while she was here.  Trevor made it up.  We don't know where it came from.  I think he aggravated her the entire week.)   Don't worry though, I took her to do a few things! :)
Like....

going to the lake...

putt-putting, pedicures, lunches/dinners, she even got to meet the twins!  (Ruby & Mable)
The week ended, but our fun wasn't quite over.
We headed back to Dallas Sunday evening to stay with our cousin Matthew.  Mekenna had a doctor's appointment in Dallas.  My mom was supposed to meet up with us on Sunday also, but my stepdad was in the hospital.  So Matthew and I ended up taking Mekenna to her doctor's appointment.  (Everything looked great! Yay for Mekenna!!) Afterwards, we hit up the pool.  This was my first time to be in a pool all summer!! I know hard to believe.

They ended up releasing my stepdad from the hospital Monday so my mom and my sisters arrived Tuesday!  Which meant we were goin to the GREAT WOLF LODGE!

This is their theme song.  We sang it all week.  And they are not lying about the lyrics either.  They do have lots of water, lots of fun, lots of everything for everyone.  That place was crazy.  They have an indoor water park and they keep the water at 82 degrees I think.  I know it was definitely in the 80s, but not sure exactly what it was.  At first I was trying to avoid getting drenched.  (Yes, I know it's a waterpark, but I suppose that's just my girly instinct) However, it was NOT, NOT possible to do.  There were buckets of water being dumped everywhere, water shooter things everywhere, WATER everywhere!! There was even a huge bucket at the very top that held 1,000 gallons of water and would dump over when it was full.  I never stood under it, but plenty of people did.  Including my sisters.  It was so much water that kids were being knocked down.  It was crazy!

Wednesday we were slightly on the dumb side and went to Six Flags.  We fortunately didn't get there until 5 and the park closed at 8.  It was enough time, trust me!  It was soo hot!! But, since we were on the dumb side, the lines were really short because no one was there.  I hadn't ridden roller coasters in I don't know how long, so I started out with the Batman.  I was getting nervous and I never used to get nervous- it was weird.  Once I got my first ride out of the way, I was ready to do everything!  I rode the Superman (by myself because no one else wanted to), The New Texas Giant, and the Titan.  Those were just the highlights.  The Titan was the last thing we rode.  It was a good thing too, because for some reason it made me sick!!!  Once again, I used to never get sick on roller coasters.  Maybe I'm getting too old.  *tear*

Thursday was our relaxing day.  For me anyway, not so much for Maryn.  It was shopping day!!!  We went to an outlet mall in Grapevine and did really good!  The girls were shopping for back to school, I was just shopping. :)  For supper we ate at the Rainforest Cafe!  It was our first time and we enjoyed it!

While we were out shopping, I happened to land my eyes on these pretty little things!!

Say what you want, think what you will, but I love them!  I even tested them out at work today! :)

Friday, we headed back home.  Home as in Sunray.  It was a pointless trip besides getting to see my family for a little bit, because I was non-stop the whole time I was there.  We didn't get there to later in the evening on Friday and Saturday we headed back to Amarillo so that the girls could finish up their school shopping and so we could all get haircuts!  *Note to self: try your best not to have 4 girls :)(although I would never change the fact that I have 3 sisters)* Speaking of haircuts, my hair got cut a teeny-tiny-little-bit-how-you-say-short! Apparently so short that I have a tan line from where my hair used to be.

I suppose it will grow back, but obviously my ends were bad because she kept asking when the last time I had gotten a haircut was.

Once again we didn't return back to Sunray until late.
Sunday was my last day at home!  Thank goodness, I flew to Dallas or I probably would've been more worn out from my 10 hour drive.  Instead, it was only about a 3 1/2 hour drive.  That's including the drive to Amarillo. :)

Okay, now time to rewind a bit.  I was going to post an individual blog about my relationship, but Trevor seems to think it's not a big deal.  So since it isn't a big deal it's only getting a few lines and not it's own blog.
The Sunday I left for Dallas, August 7th, was the big 2 year anniversary.  Of course anniversaries are for married people, but this is pretty big for this girl, so I felt as if it needed some recognition.

Us 2 years ago...

And after 5 million trillion pictures later...

this is the best of the result.

Us now.

The month of August is crazy for me! Everything happens in August.  Besides the fact that I started dating my precious boyfriend in this month, his birthday is this month (not to mention, if you all remember I had a birthday week, so now Trevor feels the need to have one himself), Lailee needs her annual shots this month, my inspection sticker goes out this month, school starts this month, the list is endless!  Hope this month gets a move on, so I can relax a little bit.

As I stated earlier, I came back to work today.  I thought it was going to be a little harder than it was after being out for a whole week, but it wasn't too bad!  Now I just have to work on getting back into my daily routine of things!!

For all of those who successfully read this entire blog, I apologize for the length.  I promise I won't ever have one this long again!

Oh, I almost forgot!  For those of you who were worried about Lailee and her week long stay with Trevor, she's still alive.  She hardly pottied and hardly ever ate, but she's still alive and kicking! Whew!
