About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

BEWARE!

OF LONG BLOG!! I mean what did you expect? I've been gone for forever!  And this time it wasn't because I have had nothing to talk about, but because I've been busier than a bee! ;)
I'll start with Mekenna's week long stay.
I believe that I told you all that I picked her up from the airport and that she was staying for a week.  I'm sure she was bored because I chose to work while she was here, due to the fact that I was going to be off all week the next week.  She worked out with me in the mornings, but was lazy during the day and in the evenings we didn't really do anything, but what Trevor and I normally do.  Sorry SkinSkin.  (SkinSkin was a nickname she developed while she was here.  Trevor made it up.  We don't know where it came from.  I think he aggravated her the entire week.)   Don't worry though, I took her to do a few things! :)
Like....

going to the lake...

putt-putting, pedicures, lunches/dinners, she even got to meet the twins!  (Ruby & Mable)
The week ended, but our fun wasn't quite over.
We headed back to Dallas Sunday evening to stay with our cousin Matthew.  Mekenna had a doctor's appointment in Dallas.  My mom was supposed to meet up with us on Sunday also, but my stepdad was in the hospital.  So Matthew and I ended up taking Mekenna to her doctor's appointment.  (Everything looked great! Yay for Mekenna!!) Afterwards, we hit up the pool.  This was my first time to be in a pool all summer!! I know hard to believe.

They ended up releasing my stepdad from the hospital Monday so my mom and my sisters arrived Tuesday!  Which meant we were goin to the GREAT WOLF LODGE!

This is their theme song.  We sang it all week.  And they are not lying about the lyrics either.  They do have lots of water, lots of fun, lots of everything for everyone.  That place was crazy.  They have an indoor water park and they keep the water at 82 degrees I think.  I know it was definitely in the 80s, but not sure exactly what it was.  At first I was trying to avoid getting drenched.  (Yes, I know it's a waterpark, but I suppose that's just my girly instinct) However, it was NOT, NOT possible to do.  There were buckets of water being dumped everywhere, water shooter things everywhere, WATER everywhere!! There was even a huge bucket at the very top that held 1,000 gallons of water and would dump over when it was full.  I never stood under it, but plenty of people did.  Including my sisters.  It was so much water that kids were being knocked down.  It was crazy!

Wednesday we were slightly on the dumb side and went to Six Flags.  We fortunately didn't get there until 5 and the park closed at 8.  It was enough time, trust me!  It was soo hot!! But, since we were on the dumb side, the lines were really short because no one was there.  I hadn't ridden roller coasters in I don't know how long, so I started out with the Batman.  I was getting nervous and I never used to get nervous- it was weird.  Once I got my first ride out of the way, I was ready to do everything!  I rode the Superman (by myself because no one else wanted to), The New Texas Giant, and the Titan.  Those were just the highlights.  The Titan was the last thing we rode.  It was a good thing too, because for some reason it made me sick!!!  Once again, I used to never get sick on roller coasters.  Maybe I'm getting too old.  *tear*

Thursday was our relaxing day.  For me anyway, not so much for Maryn.  It was shopping day!!!  We went to an outlet mall in Grapevine and did really good!  The girls were shopping for back to school, I was just shopping. :)  For supper we ate at the Rainforest Cafe!  It was our first time and we enjoyed it!

While we were out shopping, I happened to land my eyes on these pretty little things!!

Say what you want, think what you will, but I love them!  I even tested them out at work today! :)

Friday, we headed back home.  Home as in Sunray.  It was a pointless trip besides getting to see my family for a little bit, because I was non-stop the whole time I was there.  We didn't get there to later in the evening on Friday and Saturday we headed back to Amarillo so that the girls could finish up their school shopping and so we could all get haircuts!  *Note to self: try your best not to have 4 girls :)(although I would never change the fact that I have 3 sisters)* Speaking of haircuts, my hair got cut a teeny-tiny-little-bit-how-you-say-short! Apparently so short that I have a tan line from where my hair used to be.

I suppose it will grow back, but obviously my ends were bad because she kept asking when the last time I had gotten a haircut was.

Once again we didn't return back to Sunray until late.
Sunday was my last day at home!  Thank goodness, I flew to Dallas or I probably would've been more worn out from my 10 hour drive.  Instead, it was only about a 3 1/2 hour drive.  That's including the drive to Amarillo. :)

Okay, now time to rewind a bit.  I was going to post an individual blog about my relationship, but Trevor seems to think it's not a big deal.  So since it isn't a big deal it's only getting a few lines and not it's own blog.
The Sunday I left for Dallas, August 7th, was the big 2 year anniversary.  Of course anniversaries are for married people, but this is pretty big for this girl, so I felt as if it needed some recognition.

Us 2 years ago...

And after 5 million trillion pictures later...

this is the best of the result.

Us now.

The month of August is crazy for me! Everything happens in August.  Besides the fact that I started dating my precious boyfriend in this month, his birthday is this month (not to mention, if you all remember I had a birthday week, so now Trevor feels the need to have one himself), Lailee needs her annual shots this month, my inspection sticker goes out this month, school starts this month, the list is endless!  Hope this month gets a move on, so I can relax a little bit.

As I stated earlier, I came back to work today.  I thought it was going to be a little harder than it was after being out for a whole week, but it wasn't too bad!  Now I just have to work on getting back into my daily routine of things!!

For all of those who successfully read this entire blog, I apologize for the length.  I promise I won't ever have one this long again!

Oh, I almost forgot!  For those of you who were worried about Lailee and her week long stay with Trevor, she's still alive.  She hardly pottied and hardly ever ate, but she's still alive and kicking! Whew!

& this is life as I know it...
