9.11.01
September 11, 2001, I was in the 7th grade. I remember we had just walked into our English class with Mrs. Pipkin. She was sitting at her desk, hands together, elbows on knees, slouched over, look of distress on her face. My first thought? "Oh man, what did we do? Whatever it was, we're in trouble now!" We all sat down and awaited our lecture that obviously wasn't going to be a good one. Had I only known, we only had wished it was going to be a bad lecture. She informed us about what was going on and even rolled a T.V. into the room. I remember thinking that this was a bad thing, but had no idea how bad. What did I know...I was only 12. I remember getting home and my mom being in a panic. For some reason I have the image of her sitting on the couch pushing her sleeves up, freaking out, telling me I wasn't going anywhere for the rest of the evening stuck in my head. I remember my mom telling me, "Mekayla, do you know how terrible this is?" I remember many things from that day, but there are many things I will never forget. I will never forget how many people suffered that day, how many people lost a family member or even members, friends, husbands, wives, kids the list goes on and on. I will never forget what our world went through and how it has changed us today. That being said, all of you are in my prayers today, for today is the 10th Anniversary of 9.11.01. One thing you can all remember is, we will never FORGET!
& this is life as I know it...
