Yes, I'm still alive!!
I know it's been forever since I've blogged! I was going to blog the other day then realized that my blog is still decorated in Christmas decorations! Don't worry, I am fully aware Christmas is over. However, when I began to look for other backgrounds, I got distracted and ended up not blogging. Another however, I didn't find a new blog, so you'll have to put up with the Christmas theme for a little while longer. I would've waited longer to blog, but figured I needed to catch up!
Christmas was great! We had a very merry one! I got everything and more! I finally got one of those crosses, like so...
I love it so sooo much! I realize that I probably could've made me one this whole time that I have been wanting one, but just haven't. And now I don't have to! :))
I even got a white Christmas!!
Some of that was old snow, but more snow came Christmas day! I enjoyed every minute of it! I wish for a white Christmas every year!
There is one thing I didn't manage to get. And that was...
A coloring book! Maryn let me color in hers though, so things were good for a while, till I had to leave the coloring book with Maryn when I headed back to Louisiana. :(
Christmas day, December 25th, was also my oldest, youngest, sister's sweet 16th birthday! She had a movie party, so while she was watching a movie, my mom and I put together her room! Something she's been waiting on for a while. ;) She moved into my old room, but my family has been so busy that they hadn't had time to put together her room.
I took a picture because I thought it looked super cute with the lights and all!
I did make it back to Louisiana and headed back to work! But only for a few days! I was off again today! Whoop!! We managed to have a pretty calm New Years. On New Year's Eve, we went out looking around. We ended up at a furniture store, looking for a new mattress. Trevor has been wanting one for a while and made the comment, "You know how I know we're old?" Yes, we were looking at mattresses on New Year's Eve. But I'm sure what he really meant was "You know how I know I'm old?" Ha, anyway if you were wondering a mattress got bought today, but that's irrelevant information. We eventually made it back to the house and celebrated the New Year! One of the neighborhood's guy bought a crap ton, I mean a crap ton of fireworks. So he had a show at the golf course, which we went to to watch!
It's most likely not what you're thinking...
The firework show could've fooled me into thinking it was done by pros. If there are pros for that.
We spent our New Year's day eating and watching football and sleeping. Once again Trevor made the comment that he's too old to party 2 days in a row. I think we slept all day. =S
Today however, we got more accomplished. We both had the day off and we did some cleaning, some cooking, some shopping, and some more watching football. Today was the last day of Husker football! Unfortunately they lost. Last night was also the last day of Cowboy football! Unfortunately they lost as well. Sad past 2 days in this house!
Today Trevor cooked a ham! It was one delicious little pig! Or shall I say, momma pig! That thing was ginormous! It will be feeding us for weeks! Okay maybe just one. Trevor invited Karl over to have some as well.
He told me to take a picture. He said it was completely blog worthy.
Today was also a sad day because we took down the Christmas decorations. :(( It looks completely bare in here now!
While we were out shopping....we found this FABULOUS thing!
I was oh-so-excited to find this wonderful Mardi Gras decoration!!! I hunted for one of these all over last year and could not find one! Guess the key element is to go hunting early! Although Mardi Gras is only in one month! We took the last one! I can't get over it!! I was beyond ecstatic!
I hope everyone had a great New Year's!! Hopefully I won't stay away for too long since I have now caught up!! :)
& this is life as I know it...
