About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

Long Weeks and Relaxing Weekends

Yes, before anyone says anything, as boring as my blogs might be, I have not blogged in a while!  I'm telling you this semester is KILLING ME.  This is the first time in my life I've been so busy with school, which was expected.

Speaking of school...

We had venipuncture lab last Friday.  I was kind of discouraged because almost everyone was getting it on the first try.  I, however, poked my partner twice...(sorry again Jennifer) and still didn't get it.  I didn't want to put her through it anymore, so I stopped.  She did it on me and of course got it on the first try.  Well yesterday was our test over this.  Guess what?!  I had Jennifer as a partner again and I got it on the first try!  I was super ecstatic and all sorts of excited! I all the sudden didn't feel like a failure anymore.  ;) But guess what again...my partner didn't get so lucky this time.  She had to poke me twice and of course she got discouraged.  I informed her that it was not her fault at all, it was just karma coming back to get me for having to poke her twice!  Oooh karma.

Speaking of school again...

This is what the living room floor looked like Wednesday night.  I started studying early on, wasn't getting anything accomplished.  Got a text that there was going to be a study group session...went to that nothing accomplished.  It wasn't anyone's fault, but my brains.  It didn't want to register anything that I was studying!  Blah.  I didn't end up going to bed till 2:30 that morning and had to get up at 6:30 to make it up to the school by 8.  I hate Thursday test days!  I am physically exhausted by the time Friday gets here every week.  We only go to class 4 days a week...I can't imagine in the Fall when we go 5 days a week.  I'll be a wreck! Let's just say for now, I LIVE for the weekends.  Every second of them!  Thank God for Saturday and Sundays. :)

Last weekend Trevor was on call.  Oh how we love on call weekends.  However, he only had one call and he didn't even have to go to a rig...he just had to go to his shop which is only like 20 minutes away.  So technically, it didn't even feel like he was on call.  Saturday we worked our butts off...okay maybe Trevor worked his butt off more than I did, but I did put in some work.  Saturday morning, he so graciously put in a sprinkler system in the flower bed! Praise him! Last summer I had to water each individual plant in that oh so large flower bed which was kinda fun in the beginning, but by the end of the summer I really didn't care if the flowers lived or died! Ha.  Last summer we had a dry summer and HOT of course. I watered those suckers every day when I got home.  It was a 30-45 minute process and by the time I would get done I would be drenched in sweat and eaten up by mosquitos.  While he was putting the sprinkler system I cleaned up the house and wait for it....CLEANED THE OVEN! What?! Ya, I said it I cleaned that dad gum stupid oven that doesn't have an automatic clean self button.  What the heck?!
After I got done cleaning, Trevor realized that he needed a part to finish up the sprinkler system.  We ran to Home Depot and got some flowers! Of course they had to be planted as soon as we returned...

Needless to say we worked our butts off.  I didn't even shower that day until 6 in the evening!!
I even spruced up the entry way a bit!

Yesterday after my test...I might've done a little bit of retail therapy!
Check out what I bought!!

I ABSOLUTELY love it!  I have been wanting one ever since I found it on Pinterest!!
Here's a better picture of it...It's the one on the right.

It truly is the little things that make me happy!! :)

I am so happy to announce that in 5 days I will be headed home for Easter, and then in 10 days we will be headed to Galveston! YAY FOR SPRING BREAK!
Only 1 test and 3 days of class standing in my way of Spring Break!

Trevor is off playing golf this morning, but I'm sure we have a fun filled day ahead of us...we always do!
Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!

Never Ever...

Yesterday was full of a lot of "never evers".  By that I mean...

Never ever...do I get to take naps.  I got home from class at about 1:15.  I was like, "oh my goodness, I get to take a nap."  Thursday test days are always exhausting.  We basically have 3 tests to take.  A lecture test, which is done on the computer, a lab test, where we critique film, and then another lab part, where we actually get our patients positioned for whatever 3 exams we randomly pulled.  Thursday test days are the biggest tests.  They are harder than all of the other tests, so normally all of us stay up late if not all night studying.  Then we have to get up early to make it there by 8, instead of the usual 9.  We usually have lecture at 9, but when we have tests there are now 27 of us so it takes a while for everyone to get done with all of our tests, so we start an hour early and don't get a lunch break.  Needless to say we are all excited when we are done so that we can go home and go back to sleep!  HOWEVER, yesterday when I attempted to take a nap, I couldn't.  What in the world?! I get a chance to take a nap and I couldn't fall asleep.  I knew I was tired, but now I've just gotten to where I can't fall asleep during the day.  I remember when naps were a part of my daily routine! And if I didn't get one in, it was bad news.  It was nice to just lay there and do nothing though!
Never ever...do I make A's on my tests.  Ha, don't judge me quite yet.  We run on the 7 point grading scale, so if I made a 92, it would be a B.  So yes, I've never made an A UNTIL YESTERDAY! Ah! I was so wanting to jump out of my chair and start praising Jesus. If you want to get technical, I make A's in my patient care lab, and that's about it.  As my fellow classmate says, "C's get degrees"At this point, I'm perfectly content with being a C student.
Never ever...can I get my Pandora to work at the gym.  The gym has a unprotected wireless internet that my iPod will pick up, but every time I go to my Pandora, nothing.  Says it's unable to do something..I forgot.  Anyway yesterday it finally worked!  I get tired of listening to the same music over and over at the gym so it was finally nice to jam to random music while working out.  I loved it!  Best workout yet! ;)
All in all yesterday was a pretty fabulous day!!  It's the little things that just bring a smile to my face!
And although it was a fabulous day....
T.G.I.F!!!
I hope you fabulous people have a fabulous weekend!  Don't forget to wear your green tomorrow!! ;)

Gloomy Weekend

All weekend it has been raining.  It was supposed to non-stop rain Friday, but it didn't. However there was a bit of a temperature change.  If it's going to be warm...stay warm.
Friday we went to Diamond Jacks Casino for All-You-Can-Eat-Crab-Legs.  Pretty tasty! However...for all you who know me know that I hate frogs.  Like despise them.  I just hate their little throbbing throats and their long green hopping legs.  Blah!  Anyway...here at this casino there were FROG LEGS!
Absolutely not was I about to eat them.

I mean seriously?  Look at them!! They resemble an exact frog.  UGH! I did not want anything to do with them, but of course my loving, sweet boyfriend put them on my plate.  I had chosen to put them aside, but Karl and his kids joined us and they were all making fun of me.  I couldn't have little kids having the guts to eat nasty little frogs and then making fun of me for being a baby about it.  Trevor had the courtesy to pull them apart so that when I ate them they wouldn't so much resemble a frog.  However, they just tasted like chicken.  Just like every weird thing does.  My mom brought up a valid point: Why does everything taste like chicken?

Speaking of my mom...
She's on a kick of collecting these wines called The Middle Sister.

They're kinda fun! Each flavor of wine is called something.  For example: Pinot Grigio is Drama Queen.  Chardonnay is Sweet & Sassy and so on. They also have a little story thing on the back and all have different colored tops!  When she came to visit she had brought 2 bottles.  One was the Chardonnay, which we drank.  Well yesterday while Trevor and I were out, we came to a stop light and Trevor up and decided to go into the store that was right there at the stop light.  When we went it, they had a lot of seafood and wines.  I came across the Middle Sister wines, so I decided to try the Pinot Grigio.  Not too shabby!  Thanks Mom for getting me on this kick!

Today it rained ALL DAY! Needless to say it was most definitely a lazy day!  Oh yes, speaking of lazy days.  We watched The Help last night and it was a great movie!  I've been wanting to watch it for a while now and just haven't.  I strongly suggest watching it!  Anyway back to today.  Lazy.  Completely. Trevor did cook some ribs for supper and I might add that they were pretty tasty! Be jealous.

I hope all of you have a fabulous week!

Oh Happy Day!

So yesterday my day was brightened when I went to go buy make-up and it was...
BOM
BOM
BOM!

BONUS DAY AT CLINIQUE!
I love free stuff!

So I might've had a slight blonde moment Monday night.  Trevor has been assisting me in my "ab workouts" at the gym.  So when I got done with everything else, he was not ready.  He then informed me that by the time I got done tanning that he would be done.  So I went to tan.
23 minutes later...
"What in the world takes you so long? You were in there for forever!"
Uh. No.  I tanned for 20 minutes.
Then he proceeded to tell me that he noticed when the light came on (cause you can see it under the door) and asked why it took me the whole 3 minutes to get ready to lay in the tanning bed.  I then said that it never takes me the whole 3 minutes.  And this is where my blonde moment came into effect.  Apparently you can hit the start button and do not have to wait for the whole 3 minutes.  :)
This whole time that I have been tanning, like my whole life...I have always thought you had to wait.  I didn't know why you had to wait, I just assumed.  I mean I know the time before the bed actually comes on is time allowed for you to get ready to tan, but never did I know that you could automatically turn it on when you were ready!
Whew! Glad I'm on to a new learned thing so I will never have to wait again! ;)

Here Lately...

I'll admit...I've been falling way behind on my blogging ability.  I've been so busy I wonder how I even remember to breathe! Ha, joking.  Anyway last week I had 2 tests! I've had tests just about every week since school has started but this week coming up will be the first week that we don't have any tests!! YAY!
So let me take a minute to back up...
My mom and Jeff came to town last weekend.  Pretty for sure I told ya'll that, but I didn't blog afterwards.  Friday I took my mom to eat lunch at Crawdaddy's Kitchen.  Trevor took her the last time she was here and she loved it so she demanded we go back.  We did some shopping and had some mom/daughter time and had a great time!  Trevor cooked fish Friday night, so we just hung out at the house.  Saturday we took my mom out.  We took her to a casino.  There was not much gambling...we weren't having much luck so we ended the night listening to a band there at the casino.  They were actually pretty good. :)
They left Sunday afternoon, but we had a great weekend together!

This weekend we kinda just hung out.  Nothing really exciting happened until this morning when we were walking out of the house to go to church. **Keep in mind I am not blaming anyone on how it happened** Trevor usually locks the door from the inside instead of the outside but says he didn't this time.  However, as soon as I shut the door Trevor goes, "I don't have my keys, and we're now probably locked out of the house".  Sure enough I turned back around and the door was indeed locked.  I didn't have my car keys (that has my house key on it), Trevor didn't have his truck keys, and he didn't have his other set of keys that has the house key on it.  We looked for spare keys and did not find one.  (Apparently they all got taken in at one time)  We had to sit and twiddle our thumbs outside until this guy showed up.  If only the dogs knew how to unlock doors!

Oh yes!  I forgot.  Friday night we went and had sushi! Yummm.  I tried some new kinds of sushi and they were all really good!  One of them was called the Volcano and it was actually served to us on fire!  It was pretty cool-should've taken a picture of it!  We then just so happened to have time to make it to a movie!  We went to see Act of Valor.  It was pretty good!  But sad.  It was also packed  and Trevor ended up having to ask someone if they would scoot down so that we would have room!

Saturday morning Trevor put in some hard work on the yard.  Quite honestly, I think it looks amazing and makes the house look even better!

Isn't it beautiful?

While he was doing that I was doing inside things such as cleaning the house and playing with my Lailee!

She needed that.  I feel as if I haven't been giving her that much attention here lately.  Poor thing.

Back to today...
My friend Amy texted me and asked what we were doing today.  We didn't have plans, so she invited us over for a shrimp boil!

It was de-lish!

After we ate, I was so tired!  I tried to fall asleep on the way back from her house! (She lives like 30 min away) Needless to say this girl was showered and in her jammies by 8!  Time to watch Desperate Housewives and go night night!  I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!!
