Yes, before anyone says anything, as boring as my blogs might be, I have not blogged in a while! I'm telling you this semester is KILLING ME. This is the first time in my life I've been so busy with school, which was expected.
We had venipuncture lab last Friday. I was kind of discouraged because almost everyone was getting it on the first try. I, however, poked my partner twice...(sorry again Jennifer) and still didn't get it. I didn't want to put her through it anymore, so I stopped. She did it on me and of course got it on the first try. Well yesterday was our test over this. Guess what?! I had Jennifer as a partner again and I got it on the first try! I was super ecstatic and all sorts of excited! I all the sudden didn't feel like a failure anymore. ;) But guess what again...my partner didn't get so lucky this time. She had to poke me twice and of course she got discouraged. I informed her that it was not her fault at all, it was just karma coming back to get me for having to poke her twice! Oooh karma.
Speaking of school again...
This is what the living room floor looked like Wednesday night. I started studying early on, wasn't getting anything accomplished. Got a text that there was going to be a study group session...went to that nothing accomplished. It wasn't anyone's fault, but my brains. It didn't want to register anything that I was studying! Blah. I didn't end up going to bed till 2:30 that morning and had to get up at 6:30 to make it up to the school by 8. I hate Thursday test days! I am physically exhausted by the time Friday gets here every week. We only go to class 4 days a week...I can't imagine in the Fall when we go 5 days a week. I'll be a wreck! Let's just say for now, I LIVE for the weekends. Every second of them! Thank God for Saturday and Sundays. :)
Last weekend Trevor was on call. Oh how we love on call weekends. However, he only had one call and he didn't even have to go to a rig...he just had to go to his shop which is only like 20 minutes away. So technically, it didn't even feel like he was on call. Saturday we worked our butts off...okay maybe Trevor worked his butt off more than I did, but I did put in some work. Saturday morning, he so graciously put in a sprinkler system in the flower bed! Praise him! Last summer I had to water each individual plant in that oh so large flower bed which was kinda fun in the beginning, but by the end of the summer I really didn't care if the flowers lived or died! Ha. Last summer we had a dry summer and HOT of course. I watered those suckers every day when I got home. It was a 30-45 minute process and by the time I would get done I would be drenched in sweat and eaten up by mosquitos. While he was putting the sprinkler system I cleaned up the house and wait for it....CLEANED THE OVEN! What?! Ya, I said it I cleaned that dad gum stupid oven that doesn't have an automatic clean self button. What the heck?!
After I got done cleaning, Trevor realized that he needed a part to finish up the sprinkler system. We ran to Home Depot and got some flowers! Of course they had to be planted as soon as we returned...
Needless to say we worked our butts off. I didn't even shower that day until 6 in the evening!!
I even spruced up the entry way a bit!
Yesterday after my test...I might've done a little bit of retail therapy!
Check out what I bought!!
I ABSOLUTELY love it! I have been wanting one ever since I found it on Pinterest!!
Here's a better picture of it...It's the one on the right.
It truly is the little things that make me happy!! :)
I am so happy to announce that in 5 days I will be headed home for Easter, and then in 10 days we will be headed to Galveston! YAY FOR SPRING BREAK!
Only 1 test and 3 days of class standing in my way of Spring Break!
Trevor is off playing golf this morning, but I'm sure we have a fun filled day ahead of us...we always do!
Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!
& this is life as I know it...
