About Me

My photo
I am a student just trying to graduate and living life. I have a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome boyfriend. Oh and I have a precious pup that I love so much. I love reading a good book, playing board games/cards, and decorating for anything. Working out makes me feel so much better, but it's a battle everyday. I've been in school for what seems like forever and will finally graduate in May. I am also a firm believer in "Everything Happens for a Reason". All in all as its beens said plenty of times before- I'm not perfect BUT I'm me! :)

Are YOU Ready for a Hurricane Party???

A few months back when there was a chance of a hurricane, I heard some people talking about a hurricane party.  Now, I don't know where I've been, but obviously I haven't been around because I thought a hurricane party was slightly a joke.  However it's pretty legit.  People most likely don't have a hurricane party for the right reasons, but people are supposed to have a hurricane party when they can not/choose not to evacuate and do not have all the supplies needed for a hurricane.  So all the people you invited over are supposed to bring supplies, food, etc. And they all stay with you until the hurricane is over.
The end.
A hurricane party is what seems to be going on in Shreveport.  People from New Orleans are here and
I am out of school until Tuesday!!!
What What!
To be honest, I'm kinda aggravated, but am NOT going to complain.  I'm only aggravated because now we will have 3 tests next week. Two on the same day. :( Womp....womp.

That being said, I am thoroughly enjoying my first morning off!  I took work off Friday because I would normally have class from 9-12 and I needed to go to Texas to get an inspection sticker.  However, a lot of people are going to be out Friday so instead of taking Friday off I am off today!
Coffee, GMA, and Live with Kelly! it is!

Hope you all have a wonderful Hump Day cause I sure will!! :)

Monday! Monday! Monday!

Monday. Monday. Monday.
It's only Monday and I already want it to be Friday! Why? Because I have a test and class Wednesday and a test Friday with clinic in between.  I did have homework due Friday, and I still do, but I knocked that out last night along with my Physics homework. Go me!  I did my homework last night because Trevor bought tickets to a LA Tech and A&M football game that I had thought this whole time was on Friday.  Clearly I was wrong.  It's Thursday.  Wait, didn't I just say I have a test Friday.  Yes, yes I did.  However the first part of my test is Wednesday and there's not much to study for Friday's test once I know the information for Wednesday's test, if that makes any sense.
Hoooowever, Hurricane Isaac is coming. So there's a pretty good chance that the game could be canceled.  According to the news the LA Tech coach has been "monitoring the weather and is going to make a final decision tomorrow evening on whether or not the game will go on".

Speaking of Hurricane Isaac...clearly the world is trying real hard to end.  First time in a long time that mosquitos and west nile has been so bad and now a hurricane.  I did read today that if everything goes as it is going, that Hurricane Isaac will hit New Orleans the same day Katrina did.  Let's keep the people of New Orleans and everyone else that possibly may get hit by Isaac in our prayers! Hopefully it won't do too much damage!

Speaking of problems going on in our world...yesterday was the first time I had gone to the movies since the tragedy that happened in Colorado.  Pretty crappy that as soon as Trevor asked if I wanted to go to the movies that I immediately thought of that tragedy.  I didn't think it would effect me as much as it did.  I was freaking every time some sketch looking male came in alone with extra baggage.  Seriously what male brings in extra baggage?! Besides that, why wasn't he asked what he was carrying.  Maybe he was and that's why he was in the theater. Whatever the case may be I was freaking out.  I can't imagine what it did to the people that were actually involved in the tragedy.

Anyway, enough of the depressing talk...
Trevor just discovered a new TV show called Hell on Wheels.  It has already had a first season.  Second season is on TV now.
Trevor just discovered Netflix...
yaaa.
So this reminded me of him and his obsession he has going on for this show at this moment.

In the meantime, I've been getting lots of homework done! :)

A Day in the Life of a Student and a House Wiii-Girlfriend

School started back.
blah, blah, and some more blah.
I know such a nice attitude to have.  However this time I will be going to class and clinic!
FIRST THINGS FIRST: I am pooped.  Like beyond pooooooped!
If you are one of those people that don't think you need a vacation from your vacation. You're crazy.  Even if I only did go to Sunray.  Which was a first not long enough! :) I feel like I didn't get to see much of my family! Sorry fam- I'll be back for turkey!!
Now...
Here's just a little rundown of how my day went down.
Monday first day of school, had to go to work by 7:30 this morning.  Did I make it? No.  I was there by 8.  Why? Because some ghost/angel-like figure thought I needed to sleep in longer so my alarm got turned off.  Did not wake up till 45 minutes after I was supposed to.  Finally made it to work with all my luggage.  If I have to have millions of bags to make it through my day, I can't imagine what will happen when I someday down the road have kids.  I seriously have a gym bag, a bag for a set of clothes because I don't like wearing my work clothes to class, lunchbox, school bag, and a purse. Ridiculous.
Anyway... ((big deep breath))
Went to work for a few hours, went to class for a few hours, went to the bookstore, printed off loads of papers, went to get groceries, went to the gym, came home, did laundry, picked up the house, cooked supper, did dishes, put laundry up, took a shower, got things ready for tomorrow, **sigh**.
Ridiculously. Insanely. Busy.
Trevor better a get used to cooking/cleaning again!! (Muhahaahahaha)
Bring on another stressful semester!

And this is life as I know it...

Bad Boys...Whatcha Gunna Do When They Come For You....

A serious episode of COPS! was happening at the end of our street the other night! However they were missing their cameras and stuff!
I was coming back from the gym when I saw lights and cop cars and other cars blocking off my street.  I saw the friendly neighborhood cop.  When I turned my blinker on to let them know I needed through the friendly neighborhood cop flashed his flashlight in attempt to let me know I could go around.  Right as soon as I'm going around all this commotion a rude out of neighborhood cop came up to my window and said, "Mam, do you know these streets make loops? I'm going to need you to make a loop!" Seriously?  First of all I hate rude and inconsiderate cops.  He could've asked me nicely if I could drive around for a little bit other than be rude! After all he was the one inconveniencing ME to get home!

Last night I opted from my workout to go workout with Trevor.  The way he was talking was making me think that by doing this I would be getting a better workout than I normally would get.  And the way he was talking made me feel as if everyone was going to witness me vomitting afterwards.  I always go to the gym, and he does too, but here lately he has been going to the track a few days a week.  He usually runs 2 laps, then walks a lap for 3 miles.  Let's just say...
I.
WHOOPED.
HIS. BUTT.
Poor ol' man couldn't even make the last 2 running laps.  His legs were heavy, his calves were burning.  He just about gave every excuse in the book!!  I felt accomplished. ;)

Last night I dreamt that we were getting married.  Let's just say if that's how the real thing is going down, I'd rather pass.  (I'm probably eating my words...) The wedding was a nightmare!! Trevor was dressed in jeans, a polo, and a ball cap, slouched at the front, sitting in a chair, on his phone!
I, however, was in a gorgeous wedding dress that all the sudden was ripped in the front and the zipper would keep coming undone.  My mom had to come help me fix it and we realized we were missing a part to the dress?? Don't ask. Just be thankful that it wasn't the real deal.

Today I got to a point in my book where they went to Aspen, Colorado.  All the sudden I feel the need to go to Aspen.  I don't know if it's because snow sounds so appealing to me right now or what, but I want to go!! It's being added to my Bucket List.

Doesn't that just look absolutely gorgeous?? Snow on the streets, the lights, the mountains!
*sigh*

Tomorrow we head off to Sunray! It's been a while since I've seen all my family! Can't wait!!

SEVEN ON SATURDAY!

I'M BACK!
Ya'll have missed so much! Okay, not really.

#1! School finally ended! I was in super stress mode the Monday night before school was going to end. We had to "comp" on a total of 8 x-rays before the semester was over! I had 7 at midterm and seriously did not ever see anything I could "comp" on until TUESDAY! I was a nervous wreck thinking I wasn't going to get my last one! We have a list of x-rays that we have to do all by the time we graduate.  When I say "comp", it means if we see an x-ray such as an elbow, we have to say that we want to do it, which means that we feel confident enough to do the xrays, no matter patient condition, without any help. If we do not get all the "comps" by the end of the semester we fail... Womp womp. I was cutting it close, but finished and got a few extra even for next semester AND came out with my first A!
Super pumped!

#2! Speaking of school, we just finished not this past Wednesday, but the last Wednesday before that and we start back the 20th. :|
Totally over school!

#3! Which brings me to my next point. We are headed to Sunray for Sunray Funday Thursday, Trevor's birthday. I am excited to go back home and see everyone, but that only means that when we get back from Sunray that I will be going back to school...
Super sad face

#4! Where did summer even go?  It seriously flew right by me.  I don't even think I had a chance to enjoy it! However, I've moved on and am now on to Fall. **If you couldn't tell from my premature layout I have going on** Thanks to Pinterest, I am absolutely ready for Fall!
Yay for football and cooler weather and fall clothes and fall decorations and fall...and everything about fall!

#5! I don't know if you noticed my layout (you better have) or my italicized, bolded, astericked, larger texted note I made in #4, but I finally conquered blogger and it's new layout it has going on.  Mekayla-1 Blogger-0 ! It only took me forever to figure it out!! *big sigh*  Blogger, please do us a favor and NEVER change your layout that drastically or at all ever again!! Oh and yes I realize it's a little early for fall, but I'm not changing it again till probably Christmas! :)
Super big smile!

#6! Trevor got a new toy.  We tested out this new toy last night! I love it already.  We also took the dogs for a ride on it....poor Lailee. She took a tumble.  It broke my heart! She just jumped right out for some reason and rolled out! So sad. :( But she's okay! She got right up and ran right back to us. After that she sat in her mommas lap! No way was that happening again! She probably hates it now because she shook the entire time I was holding her in my lap.
#boysandtheirtoys

#7! We have recently adapted an armadillo problem. Before Trevor left he knew something was in the yard because the wood chips in the flower bed were all sorts of everywhere every morning! While he was gone, I went outside to water the flowers and I heard something in the bushes.  So I quickly went back in.  When he got back from South Dakota, the next morning there were holes in the yard everywhere! That next Saturday he was bound and determined to stay up until the armadillo came out.  He caught him, and killed him.  So nasty! His friend Karl told him that if you had one armadillo come it wouldn't be the last.  They apparently don't come in packs but they will come one at a time.  Sure enough Wednesday night Trevor told me it was supposed to storm so I went outside to get my plant and let Lailee out in the front.  Next thing I know something is passing right by Lailee.  Of course armadillos are blind so he just moseyed on his way and surprisingly Lailee chased him for a little bit then left him alone. When I ran back in I guess Trevor was watching from the window and was wondering if it was a rabbit or an armadillo.  He wasn't too happy when I informed him that it was definitely an armadillo.  This one has yet to be caught....
Over amaradillos!  *Disgusted face*
